I have been out on medical leave and I wanted to update ya’ll on what happened. Thank you for the outpouring of love and support during this uncertain time ♥️

Don’t ever take your health for granted ♥️

Last Thursday I was rushed to the ER for excruciating neck pain and was diagnosed with a “Vertebral Artery Dissection” - which is a life threatening condition involving a tear in one of the four main arteries that supply blood to your brain. This condition often times ends up causing a stroke, or death - but those who survive have a pretty good prognosis for full recovery. 🙌

I am home, and doing well considering. The pain is still intense, but nothing compared to what could’ve happened.
I’ll be on anticoagulant medication for a minimum of three months - which makes this “peach” even EASIER to bruise - so I have to be incredibly careful.

I am forcing myself to take time off of work to heal - and being a couch potato may be the biggest challenge I’ve faced yet - wish me luck 💪

I apologize for being unavailable to those who have attempted to schedule with me, but I am prioritizing my health at this time and will reach out when I am ready to return to work.

Jon and I are competing at the National Alpaca Show in Indiana this week! We are showing 6 of our finest Suri alpacas, and hope to represent Bailey, CO well.
I will be back, and ready to accept appointments Wednesday, March 23rd.

Excited to attend the first ever "House Call Vet" veterinary conference! This is a relatively new idea for many veterinarians and I'm excited to pick up some new ideas/ pearls of wisdom from veterinarians paving the way - just like me!

Also, if you didn't know, veterinarians need many, many hours of Continuing Education to keep our licensure up to date! Medicine is truly a 'practice' and I am honored to attend and be able to better support my community and patients!
