Found these keychain tags at the Dollar Tree today- easy to write on and work WONDERS for labeling horse blankets, sheets, tack etc.....
If I am not the only one who is just now starting the spring project of washing, labeling, and storing winter blankets and brining fly sheets out, you need these!
ALSO great for tying into manes or attaching to halters during emergencies. I have a feeling this fire season is going to be a doozey and NOW is the time to be prepped for evacuations.

New in the barn!
And what a great work day!
This is Dually- A 2yo gelding who is pushy, dominant and more prone to react than think about things. His momma has hit her limit and wants some manners installed before we then start under saddle.

Today was day one of the "real stuff" on the ground. With these cases I like to immediately know that they can and will move their shoulder/body away from me when learning things, frustrated or unsure. It is very important to note that with a more reactive or right brained horse, getting aggressive back without real cause does nothing but create an argument. Overheating a situation makes them do the exact same thing! My biggest job here is to clearly and consistently ask him what I want even if he fights it. Consistency is key! Now, when safety becomes a concern or he entirely ignores what I am asking- that is a time to be slightly more serious before going right back to calm and collected.

The videos aren't particularly short but it is worth watching how he starts, pauses to think, and then how well he finishes this session. We start with the typical "I am confused or annoyed so pushing you is easier than thinking" attitude, and end on the perfect note! He is consistent and attentive and thinking through the obstacle!

I would also like to introduce a new member to the ranch family!
This is AQHA "Go chexy bar girl go" AKA Vikki (maybe Tina, I haven't decided yet)
She is finishing up her quarantine and vet visit before she is bred this season as well 🤞
I am excited to have a foal with some of these older bloodlines!

I dropped harmony off at the stud farm yesterday! I am so excited to announce this pair as soon as she is settled at home and confirmed in foal! She was cleared for breeding by her doctor, and has been sound enough to do some light riding lately😁
She has healed and gained weight back beautifully. And to her credit she handles it all so nicely, she is making this process even more fun being such an angel to handle🥰 kudos to her first mommas wonderful job in her training!
