💔Damien will cross the rainbow bridge today 💔

🚨💔💔 It is with the heaviest of hearts that I share that tomorrow I will be helping my handsome boy, Damien, cross the Rainbow Bridge. I will be calling his vet first thing in the morning.

For 16 years, he has been my constant, my comfort, my best friend, my soul dog, and the greatest love I've ever known. He has carried me through some of the hardest moments of my life, and now it's my turn to give him the one final act of love he deserves. He's tired. He's ready. As much as my heart is breaking, I know this is the kindest gift I can give him.

I will be taking time away to grieve a loss I can't even begin to put into words.

To everyone who has already adjusted your appointment based on when I originally planned to help Damien cross the Rainbow Bridge, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your compassion, patience, and understanding have meant more to me than you'll ever know.

If you are currently scheduled with me this Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday, a manager will be reaching out to reschedule your appointment to August 17, 21, 22, or 23.

I will be out of the salon from August 4 through August 16 and will not be responding to messages regarding grooming appointments during that time. I will return to work on August 17 and will respond to messages as soon as I am able.

Thank you for your grace during this incredibly difficult time. Please hug your babies a little tighter for me. They never stay long enough. ❤️🐾

🚨🚨 As many of you know, about two months ago I had to help my sweet Izzy cross the Rainbow Bridge. My biggest fear was that Damien—my soul dog, the love of my life—would lose his best friend (his 2nd companion) and decide he was ready to let go too.

Unfortunately, on Wednesday I received the heartbreaking news that Damien's health is rapidly declining. His heart and kidneys are both failing, and things have progressed much faster than I ever imagined they would.

For now, we're going to try heart medication along with a prescription kidney diet and give him a couple of weeks to see if it improves his quality of life. I'm holding onto hope, but I also know that if I don't see significant improvement, I won't allow him to suffer. He has given me a lifetime of unconditional love, and I owe him the same kindness in return.

I always do my best to give you as much notice as possible whenever I need to be away from the salon. As we navigate these next steps, I ask for your understanding if my schedule needs to change on short notice. Right now, my priority is spending every moment I can with Damien.

When his time comes, my heart will be shattered. My soul will be forever changed, and I will need time to grieve the loss of the dog who has been my constant, my comfort, and my best friend.

Thank you all for your continued kindness, patience, and support. Your understanding means more to me than you know as we cherish whatever time we have left with Damien.
