We are located on 30 acres of beautiful grassy fields overlooking the Farmington River. We offer a wide range of services and are dedicated to providing a quality facility for the equine athlete and rider. Avon Valley Show Stables is home to many rated and schooling hunter/jumper shows. We have 30 acres of open fields for riding, grazing, and walking your dog! During the warmer months we offer ful

l courses of show quality jumps for lessons and schooling. Avon Valley Show Stables features a large 80′ x 200′ brightly lit indoor arena with custom leather footing. Our outdoor sand arena is 150’ x 250’ with stadium lighting for evening riding. Both arenas are watered and groomed daily. Many of our staff members live on the premises providing 24 hour care. We have around the clock horse transportation in the event of veterinary emergencies or last minute appointments. Our staff maintains close working relationships with our Veterinarians and Blacksmiths which service our barn regularly. Avon Valley Show Stables aims to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere for both horse and rider. We are dedicated to excellence in equine education by providing a quality facility with first-rate staff.

🏆 Another win for Helen Sharp and the inimitable KT Kundero! 🏆

The pair kept their winning streak alive by taking home the 1.20m Northampton Mini Prix! They were one of just two combinations to jump clear. 👏

And the best part? The jump-off was rained out, and both clear-round riders chose to split the winnings rather than risk their horses on sloppy footing. Now that is horsemanship!

🐴 MOMMY & ME | Avon Valley Show Stables 💕

This is an introductory horsemanship program designed for children ages 3–7 with a parent or guardian. Each hour-long class gives young riders the opportunity to safely learn about horses through:

✨ Hands-on grooming & horse care
✨ Basic horse safety
✨ Assisted pony riding
✨ Simple games & activities
✨ Building balance, coordination & confidence

Parents/guardians lead the pony while their child rides, all under the supervision of a certified instructor. It’s a wonderful way for children to build confidence around horses while parents learn how to safely support their child’s riding journey.

One of our highlights was watching Alara Murphy and the best boy, Talk of the Town “Thomas,” put in super rounds in both the .90m and 1.0m Junior Jumpers! 💙

Catching up on a few highlights from a successful month! 🥂

Lily Whitcomb and KT Aston shined at CHJA Finals in both the Children’s Hunter Classic and Junior Medal Final! 🏆 They put in beautiful, workmanlike rounds, and we couldn’t be prouder of Lily and all the hard work she’s put in this summer. 💪🏼🤍

We can’t wait to cheer on this incredible pair at NEHC Finals! 🤩
