When you send your dog to an in-home board and train, they benefit from being in realistic scenarios they will go home to like practicing their place command while everyone is getting in the morning for school or work. People coming and going from the home. Your dog is around dog savvy children who know how to appropriately interact with your dog. They take the same field trips and get to work around other dogs when they visit other dog training facilities for the day. You also have someone essentially “on site” 24-7.

Some days can be boring while doing a Board and Train with me.

Training is a lot of repetition as well as finding little ways to practice the skills Winnie has been learning. She will often times practice place or down stays while I’m doing something else like switching over laundry or helping my girls.

Here she’s just hanging out and finished chewing on a bone. Repetition and proofing commands can be done doing every day normal things. You just have to be aware of those little opportunities 🐾🖤

Grace graduated from her training and went home today 🥹 It is bittersweet because I got to watch a very fearful dog gain confidence in an another home and in her own neighborhood. I loved watching every moment and being a part of her journey. She will still require her owner to continue her confidence building and maintain her training now that she is back home. I’m so proud of Grace and her owners dedication 🖤🐾

Board and Train Winnie’s door manners are coming along nicely. Implementing this is very important when owning a dog. Doing this helps build life saving impulse control and dashing out the door. This also helps create calm energy before crossing a boundary. I teach the dog to wait until I give them the “release” command. It’s one of the first things I begin working on when a dog first arrives for their board and train.

Grace goes home in a couple days and she’s come so far with her training and building her confidence. Her owner is committed to continuing the work and confidence building once she is home. Having a more confidence will help Grace have less fearfulness when she’s out and about with her owner. I’m so proud of her!!
