🪦RIP Cornerstone, you will not be missed!

We are so excited to be saying goodbye to Cornerstone and launch our new practice management and record-keeping software - VetCove! Some may already be a bit familiar with this as we have already begun using the VetCove online pharmacy, which can be accessed through our websites main page.

Please keep in mind that we will have limited appointments this week, and appointment times may be a bit longer than normal as we navigate this new software.

Thank you for your patience while we continue to strive in making yours and your pets visit as smooth as we can!

April is National Heartworm Awareness Month, but lets be real, EVERY month is heartworm awareness month in Texas!

Here in Austin, and all throughout the southern US, heartworm disease is a very common disease in unprotected pets because it is spread by mosquitoes. In some more coastal areas, mosquitoes are present year-round.

Heartworm disease can cause many different health problems and can even be deadly, and even heartworm disease that is treated can cause lasting damage to the inside of the heart. Treatment is also very risky.

Remember to keep your dog or cat on year-round prevention, even pets that are mostly or only indoors.

Visit the American Heartworm Society website for more information on heartworm disease, and ask your vet about testing and prevention options!

So it's dental month... why exactly do we care? Well, let's start with learning about periodontal disease, which is arguably the most common disease among companion animals that we see and treat.
Swipe to see the stages of perio, and a brief overview of what the treatments are.
It's important to note that periodontal disease is not a comfortable process for your pet to go through, which is why home care and professional cleaning is so important.
Later on we will discuss options for home care, and what dental treatment at the vet hospital looks like for your pet!
