Riding Club of Austin is a full-service equestrian center and riding club tucked away in the tranquil hills of Southwest Austin, with quick and easy access to Mopac and Highway 290. All your equestrian needs are met at the Riding Club, including boarding, full or partial training, lessons, leasing and more. Riding Club is multidisciplinary, focusing on Dressage, Hunter/Jumper and Three-Day Eventin

Is your child older than 11 but younger than 17 with some horseback riding experience and free time? Ask us about our Junior Counselor program!

Our Junior Counselor Program is designed for teens who love horses and want to spend more time at the barn while learning responsibility, teamwork, and horsemanship skills. This program is available during our camps. Junior Counselors assist our staff during camp days and help support a fun, safe, and organized environment for all riders.

RCA is looking for Junior Counselors over the Summer
Junior Counselor Program (Ages 12–17)

Our Junior Counselor Program is designed for teens who love horses and want to spend more time at the barn while learning responsibility, teamwork, and horsemanship skills. This program is available during our camps. Junior Counselors assist our staff during camp days and help support a fun, safe, and organized environment for all riders.

Responsibilities may include:

- Assisting younger campers with basic horse care (grooming, tacking with supervision)

- Helping lead horses

- Supporting camp activities and keeping campers engaged

- Assisting with barn organization (cleaning tack, filling water buckets, general tidying)

- Helping set up and break down daily camp activities

- Learning safe horse handling and barn etiquette

Junior Counselors are always supervised by RCA instructors and staff and are not responsible for teaching lessons.

What they gain:

- Hands-on experience working around horses

- Increased confidence and responsibility in a barn setting

- A fun, team-oriented environment

- Opportunity for a supervised ride or lesson at the end of the day (when appropriate/available). If a junior counselor is interested in a lesson after camp this needs to be scheduled through the website.

This program is ideal for teens who are eager to learn, willing to help, and excited to be part of the RCA community.

Summer Camp weeks listed below. Camp hours are 8am - 1pm Monday through Friday for the following upcoming weeks. Junior Counselors have the option for pick up at 4pm, but no later than 4pm! Junior counselors who help for a full week will receive a free saddle pad and free lesson!!!

August 10-14
