Relocating to Wimberley was an important lifeboat for considering a quick move out, but with the distance it was difficult for our students and families which caused significant impact on our revenue needed to keep things afloat.

I’m currently accepting new students ages 3+! Riding Club of Austin is an English foundational riding program focused on biomechanics, balance, relaxation, mind-body awareness, communication, and equine welfare.

I believe learning to ride is about so much more than what happens in the saddle. My approach is trauma-informed and developmentally focused, helping children and teenagers build confidence, responsibility, communication, resilience, body awareness, and other skills that carry into everyday life.

Our goal is to give every rider a strong foundation they can build upon, no matter what equestrian discipline they eventually choose.

What if your child’s favorite childhood memories could also be some of the things that shape who they become?

As parents, we invest in our kids constantly.

We invest in their education.
We invest in their clothes, their activities, their experiences.

But the things that matter most aren’t always the things we can put on a receipt.

Confidence.
Resilience.
Responsibility.
Connection.
Independence.
The ability to trust themselves.

That’s why horseback riding is different.

When your child walks into the barn, they aren’t just walking into a lesson.

They’re walking into a world where a 1,000-pound animal is paying attention to them.

They learn that their body language matters.

That patience matters.

That confidence isn’t something someone can simply hand them—it’s something they build.

They learn to make decisions.

They learn that sometimes things don’t work the first time.

And they learn something incredibly valuable:

“I can figure this out.”

They’re outside.
They’re moving.
They’re learning to care for another living creature.
They’re developing a relationship with an animal that requires trust and communication.

And somewhere along the way, something else happens.

You start seeing your child differently.

You see the kid who was nervous get a little braver.

The kid who struggled with confidence start believing in themselves.

The kid who couldn’t wait to get home from school suddenly can’t wait to get to the barn.

And years from now, they may not remember every toy you bought them.

They may not remember every activity they tried.

But they may remember the horse they loved.

The first time they rode by themselves.

The day they finally accomplished something they had been struggling with.

The feeling of sitting on a horse with the wind on their face.

The person they became because someone gave them the opportunity to try.

That is an investment.

Not an investment in a sport.

Not an investment in a hobby.

An investment in the person your child is becoming.

So before you ask, “How much is a riding lesson?”

Ask yourself:

“What is it worth to give my child an experience that could stay with them for the rest of their life?”

Because you’re not really buying an hour.

You’re investing in your child.

And those are the investments that matter most.

We are so excited about RCA’s new chapter in Wimberley, but this move came much sooner than we ever expected and brought significant upfront expenses.
