Lots of people have been asking how our chickens are doing in the cold ❄️

The girls are doing great. Honestly, they handle cold weather much better than extreme heat 🥵 Chickens are surprisingly hardy as long as a few basics are covered.

We make sure their water stays unfrozen, offer a little extra food since staying warm burns more calories, and keep their coop clean, dry, and well-bedded with fluffy shavings for insulation.

At night, they naturally roost close together to share body heat. We usually find them all cuddled up like this, which is exactly what you want to see 🥰
