Jet is just the nicest, most handsome boy in the world. He's a greyhound, and sadly he has a form of cancerous bone tumor that is very common in his breed. We performed an amputation to remove the tumor and provide pain relief, and he will start treatment under the care of his oncologists at VCA Capital Area Veterinary Specialists. Wishing you the absolute best recovery, Jet!!

Yoshi was our very first surgery with our new friends at Doodle Dandy Rescue Texas, and we have really enjoyed getting to know the folks at the rescue, along with Yoshi and his foster mom! We're looking forward to helping them more in the future 🐾

Jessy is a long-time patient of Dr. Shuman's, and her mom went the extra mile to track us down at Moontower for her second TPLO! Her procedure went smoothly and we are so happy we got to see her again ☺️

Lulu's horse friend accidentally stepped on her leg, causing a fracture of her tibia and fibula. Drs. Shuman and Kmietsch placed a plate and pin to realign and stabilize the bones, and Lulu is expected to make a great recovery. Good job Lulu!

Itty bitty Sushi fell off the bed and broke her leg. Her family came together to make sure she got the surgery she needed, and the Moontower team came together to make sure she was held, snuggled and babied the whole time she was with us! This tiny champion shows us that the bravest things come in the smallest packages!

Toby came in for his follow-up X-rays and he's doing great. We all love this little cutie!

Erin tore the ligaments in her wrist, leaving her front leg painfully unstable and difficult to use. Dr. Shuman performed an arthrodesis, fusing the joint. She will move differently now, but once she recovers, she will be able to walk and run without pain. We can't wait to see you back in top form, sweet girl!

"Miele" means honey in Italian, and this sweet kiddo lives up to his name. He tore his cruciate ligament and needed a TPLO, and we neutered him at the same time. His mom says he is recovering a little *too* well and needs a lot of reminding that he's had major surgery!

Hulk suffered a terrible injury to his leg and came to us in a lot of pain. We took him to surgery, and Drs. Shuman and Kmietsch used a plate and screws to realign his bones and stop his bleeding. Despite his wounds, he was an excellent patient and so brave. We expect that with a lot of rest and rehabilitation, he will be able to run and play again. For now he is back in the care of his loving family, where he belongs. 🤎🤎🤎
