Austin Animal Services pled Bud, a tiny 6.8-pound puppy to our Parvo ICU; he arrived so sick and in need of immediate action. . He’s traveling a rough path: his tiny body fought so hard during treatment that even after testing negative, he needed a blood transfusion to aid his continued recovery. Then he became jaundiced — his liver was struggling so hard that his skin and eyes started turning yellow.
One of our vets shared that she had only ever seen one dog survive a case this severe, and that dog was an adult. So it was against incredible odds that this baby pulled through.
Today, this little legend is our official "parvo miracle pup," who is continuing his recovery in our clinic with a tail-wagging attitude and big puppy dog eyes. Bud’s care costs about $5,000.
