Every time you mop with bleach or harsh chemicals, invisible residue lingers on your floors. Your pet walks through it, absorbs it through their paws, and then licks it, and that’s where the trouble begins. Make sure their toys aren’t around the cleaning solution, clear the floors of anything they use, and especially any water or food bowls. Contact with these harsh cleaning products could cause irritation, allergies, vomiting, and skin discomfort.
Here’s how to keep your home clean and your dog safe:

💧 Dilute it well — If you must use bleach, use a small amount in a large bucket of water. Never apply it directly to surfaces.
🕒 Wait before letting them back in — Let the floor dry completely, ideally 1–3 hours and go over it with a clean towel or paper towel to double check if unsure
🪟 Ventilate — Open windows and doors to clear chemical fumes and turn the fans on in your place to circulate air
🌿 Try natural options — White vinegar + warm water, plain hot water, or baking soda on smelly spots (rinse well after and thoroughly).
🛍️ Go pet-friendly — Enzymatic or pet-safe cleaners eliminate bacteria without harsh residue and less toxic
🧼 Wipe their paws — A quick wipe with a damp cloth goes a long way and ensures no lingering product

Keeping your dog safe isn’t just about food and cuddles ... it’s about the environment they live in, too. ❤️

Did you know many low-quality kibbles are packed with cheap fillers and excess carbs that can contribute to weight gain in pets?

Ingredients like low-quality corn have also been linked to aflatoxin contamination risks when improperly stored, and many dogs can struggle with ingredients like wheat, which may contribute to food sensitivities, digestive issues, and skin problems in some pets.

Then when pets become overweight, owners are often pushed toward expensive “diet” foods that can cost over $130 for a small bag that the main ingrediant in that food is sawdust and this is what makes them full!! — many still filled with low-quality ingredients and fiber fillers instead of real nutrition.

Your dog doesn’t always need prescription diet food to get healthy. Sometimes better ingredients, more protein, fewer fillers, portion control, and fresh food additions can make a huge difference.

Come chat with us about healthier feeding options that fit your budget and your pet’s needs. We love helping pet parents understand what’s really in their pet’s bowl.

They came to us unsure if love was something they could trust again. And then, slowly, they taught us everything.

They taught us to live in the moment, to forgive quickly, and to love without conditions. They showed us that healing is possible and that joy can be found in the simplest things, like a warm lap or a walk around the block.

You think you’re rescuing them.

The truth is…they rescue you right back.

👉🏼Tag your favorite local shelter in comments to show them some love ❤️
