Meet Rory. 🐾

This 7-week-old Husky puppy came to Ace of Spays with what looked like an intestinal foreign body. Plot twist: it was a roundworm impaction. 😳

Yes, ROUNDWORMS. In this tiny baby.

Consider this your friendly (but very serious) reminder to DEWORM YOUR PUPPIES! Intestinal parasites can cause serious, even life-threatening problems in young puppies.

Keep up with your puppy’s deworming schedule and talk to your vet about appropriate parasite prevention. Because puppies have enough to worry about without their intestines becoming a roundworm traffic jam. 🪱

It’s National Adopt a Shelter Pet Month, which means I, Pru, have been assigned to find homes for some of the very good dogs currently waiting at Austin Animal Center.

Foster homes are such an important part of the shelter system. Kittens get to grow, play, socialize, and learn all the important things about being a cat while they wait for their forever families. And honestly, we’re pretty sure these little orange guys have the “being adorable” part down.

My official job at Ace of Spays is Emotional Support Specialist.

I greet the patients, supervise recovery, and administer cuddles when necessary. Some need a little reassurance. Some need ALL the snuggles.

Honestly, the humans do the surgery. I do the important stuff. 💁‍♀️❤️

Meet Frankie. 💙

Frankie is a very handsome little Frenchie who came to Ace of Spays for a neuter, nose revision, and soft palate revision.

And since we know you’re all here for the Frenchie face… swipe to see his before & after nose pics! 👃🐽

A little less squished, a little more breathing room, and approximately 100% still adorable.

Pru has reviewed the results and would like everyone to know that Frankie is still required to maintain his position as a professional cute boy. No exceptions. 💅🐾

Meet Lulu! 🖤🐩

She’s one of the tiniest and prettiest little poodles we’ve seen in a while! And during her spay, we discovered she had a few retained baby teeth.

Since she was already under anesthesia, we were able to remove those little teeth at the same time, one less thing for Lulu (and her people) to worry about!

Tiny pup. Tiny teeth. Big day. 💕🦷

This little girl is 100% living up to her name, full of s***k, personality, and sweetness! 😻

Moxie is currently up for adoption through Austin Animal Services, and we’re proud to partner with them to help spay/neuter animals in foster homes so more shelter pets can get ready for their forever families. 🐾

👑 Mochi has entered his recovery era. 👑

Meet Mochi, an 8-month-old silver Maine C**n and certified regal gentleman. 🩶

Mochi decided a rubber stopper looked like a tasty snack. Unfortunately, it got stuck in his intestines and had to be surgically removed. While he was here, we also took care of his neuter!

Foreign objects can cause serious intestinal blockages, so if your pet eats something they shouldn’t, call us ASAP 🐾

Thankfully, Mochi is recovering beautifully: calm, sweet, handsome, and apparently ready to put this whole embarrassing incident behind him. 👑🐾

Recovery is serious business. The fashion? Completely optional. 😎

At Ace of Spays, we take recovery just as seriously as surgery. Our patients get thoughtful, attentive post-op care, comfortable recovery spaces, and all the little details that help them wake up safely and comfortably, like this special recovery suit for front leg surgeries.

Pru, naturally, has volunteered to demonstrate our “serious recovery attire.” She takes her job very seriously. Her modeling career? That’s still under review. 😂🐾
