Meet Dune! 🐾

🤩This handsome Akita stopped by Ace of Spays for his neuter and scrotal ablation, and judging by that smile, we’d say he’s feeling pretty good about the whole thing!

Akitas are a large breed, and, as you know, large dogs are our specialty🐾❤️
From giant paws to giant personalities, we love helping big dogs get the surgical care they need in a safe, efficient, and stress-free environment.

🐕Dune was an excellent patient, and we’re wishing him a smooth recovery filled with naps, treats, and plenty of admiration for his good looks. ❤️

This is Molly. 💛

She looks pretty innocent here, but whew… this sweet girl had a rough week. Last Monday, Molly was diagnosed with pyometra (a severe uterine infection), but the infection had also made her dangerously anemic. She was so sick that she needed TWO blood transfusions at the emergency clinic before she was stable enough for surgery.

We performed her surgery last Tuesday, and honestly? Within HOURS she was acting like a whole new dog. She felt so much better that she kept trying to climb out of her recovery pen just to come hang out closer to us. 🥹

Stories like Molly’s are exactly why we take pyometra so seriously. It can turn life-threatening incredibly fast, but thankfully this girl got the care she needed just in time.

We are very happy to report that Molly has made a full recovery and is now back home living her best country girl life in Georgetown. 🤠🐾

Ace of Spays will be CLOSED for Memorial Day week (5/25 - 5/29) so our team can take a little break, recharge, and spend...

Ace of Spays will be CLOSED for Memorial Day week (5/25 - 5/29) so our team can take a little break, recharge, and spend time with family (and probably a few dogs on couches). 😴🐶

We’ll be back soon, rested and ready to get back to snipping, stitching, and preventing questionable life choices. ✂️✨

Until then:
🚫 Keep the corn cobs away from your pets
🚫 Don’t let your dog “help” with the BBQ cleanup
🚫 And maybe supervise the hot dog consumption a little more closely than usual 🌭👀

Phoenix the Frenchie came in for a**l gland surgery and, as expected, brought ✨drama✨.

Unfortunately for Phoenix, post-op recovery requires a surgery suit… and unfortunately for us, Frenchies are basically shaped like a loaf of bread with legs. No waist. No hips. Just vibes.

So our sweet little meatball had to be upgraded to the deluxe model: a custom surgery suit WITH SUSPENDERS. 💅

Honestly? She looks like a he’s about to drop the hottest indie folk album of 2026.

Wishing Phoenix a smooth recovery and many future days free of b***y troubles. 🍑

Our smallest patient at Ace of Spays this week weighed in at a mighty 1.5 kilos and arrived for a cherry eye repair. 🍒👁️

Honestly, we’ve had burritos larger than this dog.

Our surgery team handled this tiny drama queen with the precision of a neurosurgeon and the emotional support energy of a kindergarten teacher. Tiny body, HUGE opinions.

Good news: the cherry has been picked, the eye is looking great, and this microscopic patient has already returned to bossing everyone around. 💅🐶

Things nobody tells you about owning a giant dog:

• they can clear your coffee table with one tail wag
• they firmly believe they’re lap dogs
• they take up 94% of the bed
• “just pick him up” stops being an option REAL fast
• surgery quotes can get… huge 😅

At Ace of Spays, we know big dogs deserve affordable care too. That’s why we specialize in large dog spay/neuter, as well as soft tissue surgery for all sizes of dogs (and cats!), because caring for your BIG best friend shouldn’t feel impossible. 💜🐶

We had some extra help in surgery this week thanks to Polly the Bernedoodle. 🐾💙

Polly spent the day supervising the team, checking on patients, and making sure everyone was maintaining proper morale levels. She took her role very seriously… especially the parts involving attention and snacks.

We can officially confirm that fluffy emotional support is an important part of clinic operations around here. Thanks for keeping us on track, Polly! 🐶✨

And in true Ace of Spays fashion, we celebrated the only way we know how… with a neuter 😄

Wilbur, the Persian cat, came in to see us yesterday for his big day. He’s now home, cozy, and officially spared any dad duty.

So grateful for this amazing community, our clients, and all the pets we get to care for every day.🙌🐾
