💫 STORY TIME 💫

Last month, Plennie drove up to North Texas to buy some kennel runs from a retriever trainer who was closing shop. I asked if they had any extra equipment for sale, and they said, “Well… we have this dog.”

My immediate response? “HA! No thank you!” I already had three fosters at home.

But curiosity got the best of me… and I came to learn he’d been abandoned there seven months earlier and had just been sitting (spinning iykyk) in a kennel ever since. Then, to my surprise, Plennie said we should take him in. 🤯

Here’s the thing, I’ve been wanting to explore the world of protection sports for a while now, but I needed the right dog for it. (Havoc thinks it’s fun, but realistically, we wouldn’t make it very far 😅.)

I’ve followed certain lines and breeders for years, waiting for that dog — the one bred for a purpose. I’ve always fostered and rescued, but this type of dog? I did plan to actually purchase. Silly me…. I should have known better.

This dog is everything I was looking for in a working dog: drive, focus, heart but most importantly, he’s stable when I need him to be. Training a protection dog I couldn’t trust around my family was never something I wanted.

So, everyone… meet BREAKFAST 🍳 the most perfect rescue Belgian Malinois a girl could’ve asked for.

We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us, but I can’t freaking wait! 🧡🖤💛
