Phelix is ready to go! This special senior needs to find his forever family. At 10 yrs old, and 6.7 lbs, he is in the golden years of his life and is excited for his snuggle era to begin!

Phelix is surprised he hasn't gotten any applications in yet, so he decided to do a fashion show to show you how well he can blend in with a new family, and he is truly and adorable little monster 💀 😈.

Phelix is missing a portion of his bottom jaw, and has a severe heart murmur. The good news is that we did an echo for his heart, and he has a mild case of degenerative valve disease. He is now on meds for his heart and nothing can hold this amazing boi back!

Phelix is a perfect gentleman. He will cuddle and love on you every second he can. He loves to snuggle your neck and sleep 😴😴.

Phelix is done with his bachelor lifestyle and is ready to settle down with his new soulmates.

Zee is still available!

Zee is looking for a family who understands that he is a work in progress, and while he may take some time to open up, he is worth the effort! Zee has made leaps and bounds over the last month in social skills, and is ready to show off!!

This smol boi is about 2 years old and 5.6 lbs of ears and a smidge of dog 🐶🐕. He comes to us from a hoarding situation in the Dallas area. All the babies in the shelter were scared and timid. Zee came to us super nervous and unsure of everything. But within a couple of days, this blanco boi did a 180 and became a semi confident lil man.

Once he gets comfortable, Zee fully attaches to one person and no one else exists ♥️. He's a simple boi who only has time for one love in his life. He is still acclimating and so he does do growlies for visitors for several days before relaxing enough to mostly ignore them.

Zee is suuuuuuper playful, and if you don't have the energy to play with him, no worries, he will entertain himself? He loves toys, Nyla bones, shoes, wood corners… and kibble! Also bell peppers, cucumber, and lettuce (not the diarrhea kind, sorry Taco Bell). Zee also has a big bork, but so far he rarely barks indoors.

Zee loves to play with other small dogs, and zip around the house hopping from one dog bed to another like a little kangaroo toad hybrid, but cute and not scary like it sounds. So far he has been submissive to alpha doga and has been a bit nervous/growly possessive with his person until fully comfortable with resident/visiting dogs.

He also sleeps quietly through the night in his pen but would LURVE to be in bed with the One Human!!! He is pretty much house broken and potty pad trained, minus some aiming issues. He is still working on his leash training.

Congratulations Quintin, G$, and Lantana!

Well after spending half of the year working with baby Quintin, pacing during his surgeries, and holding her breath for his check ups, Quintin's foster mom couldn't handle the idea of letting him go. She's been with him through a scary time, and now she will get to have him for the rest of his life!

To make this week even more amazing, Lantana and G$ have both found their forever homes! Lantana had been with us a while too, after having her broken leg repaired. And G$ basically was just with us to put on weight and get healthy, just long enough to find the mama of his dreams.

Meet Fincess Ophelia!

Ophelia isn't a queen, 👑 she's a princess, but because she was born with only half a front leg which looks like a fin, we call her her a Fincess. This Fincess is royalty in the making!

She is going to truly be a rags to riches story, and we are so hopeful for her future. Our South Texas friends found her living outside covered in countless ticks, and appearing to be in early stage pregnancy. They were able to convince her owner to surrender her, which was the luckiest day of her sweet lil life!

We are so glad we got her in time! She arrived nervous but so sweet and trusting, but this little girl is unwell and needs some TLC. The bad news is that this sweet angel is HW positive, anemic, and the vet is concerned about potential tick borne diseases. Thankfully she is very early in her pregnancy, so for her health and safety, she will be spayed as soon as she is medically able. With her health and not knowing about the potential puppies size, it is in her best interest so we can treat her effectively.

Despite her medical issues, we are very optimistic about getting her healthy soon! Her sweet loving demeanor makes Ophelia THE perfect patient ❤️

Meet this precious little girl who looks just like a baby fawn! Melody is approximately 3–4 years old and weighs only 6.2 lbs. She has a HUGE love for people and an even bigger love for cuddling. ❤️

Melody came to us with an injury to her front left leg. She is unable to use it, and had been dragging it around causing a terrible friction burn. Thankfully, the injury to her leg has resulted in nerve damage, so it doesn't hurt her at all ❤️😓. We will be amputating it to prevent future infections and to help improve her mobility. So this little girl is about to become a tripod queen 👑. But don’t let that fool you, this little girl does NOT let her injury hold her back! She gets around great on three legs already, and she’s expected to do even better once her injured leg is removed. ❤️🐾 SHE WILL BE UNSTOPPABLE!!!

This girl doesn’t need pity. She needs a person to love, a lap to curl up in, and someone who wants a tiny best friend by their side through life’s everyday adventures. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch or heading out to run errands, Melody would love nothing more than to be right there with you. 🥹💕

Meet Legend!

Legend was owner surrendered to the Austin shelter, and when we saw this handsome guy, we couldn't resist! He is a sweet senior approximately 10 yrs young, and 6 lbs. This lil dude is just sweet and soft as can be!

Legend is a legend in the making! He is destined to be THE dog his future owners always talk about, even long after his time. He is obsessed with people, and is just the friendliest thing on 4 legs. He will follow you around, talking at you in excitement. He will jump up on your lap as soon as he sees you start to sit. When he is being loved on, he will sing and talk to you to thank you for everything that you do.

Legend is going to be your dream pup! He is mainly house broken, but has had a few marking accidents.

Legend also loves other dogs! Despite his age, this golden boi can keep up with the best of them. He can even help babysit the young pups. We are just so in love with this handsome and kind boi, we can't wait to see what life has in store for him!

Meet Finley!

Sweet little Finley is a cute 4 yr old, 6.6 lb scruffy chi mix! She came to us with severe skin infection which gave her swollen scabby bum and tail. But now after being on medication, she is feeling sooooo much better!

Finley may be a little shy and timid when you first meet her, but give her a little time and patience, and you’ll discover her true personality. Once she warms up, she becomes a Stage 5 Clinger!

She wants to be right beside her person, soaking up all the cuddles and love she can get. She loves playing with toys, hanging out and playing with her foster siblings, cuddling and being close to her human.

Finley is doing fairly well with potty training. She does best when taken out for leash walks and is also doing well using p*e pads. She’s making progress and just needs a patient family willing to continue helping her learn.

Ay Chihuahua Rescue would like to thank Petfinder Foundation for the 2026 Emergency Medical Grant for Ethel!!

Ethel came to us after being on the euthanasia list with huge mammary tumors covering her entire undercarriage that required two surgeries for full removal. In addition to the tumors removal, she also required dental surgery due to fistulas. This girl is a true fighter and has been adopted and the Queen of her house.

Petfinder's grant covered the cost of her procedures, and helps make sure we can continue to get care for these tiny angels! Thanks so much for what you do!!
