🐾🌎 World Rabies Day is September 28! 🌎🐾
Rabies may be a deadly disease, but there’s some very good news: it is preventable! ❤️
Rabies is a deadly virus that affects the nervous system of mammals—including pets and people. It is most commonly spread through the bite of an infected animal.
That’s why keeping your pets up to date on their rabies vaccinations is so important! 🐶🐱💉 Even indoor pets can be at risk if they have an unexpected encounter with wildlife, such as bats or other wild animals. 🦇 Vaccinating your pets for rabies is also required by Texas State Law!
On World Rabies Day, we want to remind everyone:
🐾 Avoid contact with unfamiliar wildlife
🐾 Contact your veterinarian if your pet has an encounter with a potentially rabid animal
🐾 If you are bitten or exposed to an animal that may have rabies, contact a healthcare professional and your local health department
Together, we can help protect both pets and people from this preventable deadly disease! 💙
Vaccines save lives—and rabies vaccination is one of the most important ways we can keep our pets and communities safe. 🐾❤️
