Dear Dogs Around Austin Family,
With a full heart, I’m writing to share some deeply personal news: I’ve made the very difficult decision to step away from Dogs Around Austin.
Nearly three years ago, I experienced a heart attack caused by rare postpartum complications and the toll of prolonged stress. Since then, I’ve gradually stepped back from the daily operations to focus on healing. After much reflection and with encouragement from those closest to me, I’ve come to realize that it’s time to prioritize my health and be more fully present for my family.
This has not been an easy decision. Dogs Around Austin has been my dream—a labor of love built from a deep passion for dogs and a desire to serve this incredible community. Starting this business and getting to know each of you and your wonderful pups has truly been one of the greatest honors of my life. I loved your dogs like my own and cherished every tail wag, playdate, and boarding stay.
Thank you for trusting me with your pets, for your kindness, and for letting me be part of your lives. I’ve treasured the connections we’ve built and the joy your dogs brought me every day.
Though I’m stepping away, Dogs Around Austin will continue with the same heart and high standards you’ve come to know and love. Kat Thomas—who you already know and adore—will be taking the reins and rebranding the business to make it her own. The amazing team remains in place and fully committed to caring for your pups with warmth, love, and dedication.
