These two Danes are in Eagle Pass TX. As you can see from the video, the female was used for breeding. Who knows how many litters she has had. Now the owner is moving and leaving the dogs behind. So they need to come into rescue.

We are looking to find them foster homes (not together) in the Austin area. If you could foster or if you are interested in adopting, please go to our website to fill out the application.

We would also appreciate donations to help for their care.

ADOPTED 6/29/2026

Remember Deputy Dewey? He came into our rescue about a month ago as a complete mess — no manners, overflowing with pent-up energy, severe separation anxiety, and some destructive behavior from boredom.

Well… after getting neutered and spending time with an amazing foster family, Deputy Dewey has made an incredible transformation. He’s been able to run on a ranch, play with other dogs, and just be a dog — and it shows!

Now he walks great on a leash, loves car rides, plays well with other dogs, and is good around kids. He’s a handsome, loving, playful boy who is ready for a forever home. (He may still sneak off with a toy or two to chew on!)

If you’d like to give Deputy Dewey the loving home he deserves, please visit our website and fill out an adoption application.

UPDATE: Adopted by her foster family.

This is Perdita (Perdy). She is a beautiful blue-eye harlequin Great Dane. She is 2 years old, spayed and current on all vaccinations. She also had gastropexy done. She suffered a thermal burn during her spay and has since fully recovered, though she has a large scar on her left shoulder.

Perdy is incredibly sweet and friendly to all. She has grown up around children and is good with other dogs and also OK around cats. No one is a stranger to her. She was professionally trained through a boarding program in Dallas (https://www.lonestardogtrainer.com/). She is house-trained, crate-trained, and off-leash trained when wearing her e-collar. She loves to play with other dogs. When outside she gets the zoomies and she loves to go for car rides.

We would like to find Perdy a home with another playful dog(s).

If you would like to give this gorgeous girl a new loving home, please go to our website and fill out the adoption application. www.pawsofaustin.org

Available for adoption. Austin, TX

Gorgeous 20-months-old Dane name Deputy Dewey. Best description of his color- Brindlequine.

Dewey loves everyone. He wants to play with all the dogs that he meets. Good around cats. He is a clumsy puppy and full of energy. Will need basic training because he has no manners and no regards to “personal space”. He is a typical Velcro Dane. Since he loves to run and play, we think that it’s best that he will go to a home with another playful dog. He can be mouthy and he will chew stuffed animals and pillows, so when he’s not supervised, he needs to be in a kennel. Previous owner said that he is allergic to chicken, needs to be on Benadryl.
