When we all work together!
This is Anne throwing a medicine ball backward over her head at her exercise boot camp. Doesn't she look like she's jumping for joy?
Anne has been seeing Julie Mankinen over time to: 1) address "frozen shoulder" after breaking her humerus, 2) non-surgically manage neck, upper back and arm pain and mobility associated with a cervical disc herniation and nerve root compression and most recently, 3) maximize hip mobility that tends to be limited by physical structure and a tendency towards ligamentous stiffness. This allows optimal low back motion and shock absorption during exercise.
She continues to use physical therapy as part of a multi-faceted, integrative care tool kit that includes other functional treatments such as her urban animal boot camp, e-cises from Egoscue of Austin, a gyrokinesis class at Somaspace and Pilates with Shaw Therapies & Pilates. All of these help improve her posture and body mechanics so that work on a computer is possible without provoking pain. To be pain-free is certainly cause for joy!
