Ever wondered what a lipoma looks like under the microscope 🔬? A patient of ours came in with a new squishy lump on her neck, from feel alone our Doctors can’t 100% guarantee what it may be so we like to do a fine needle aspirate & cytology, we stain the cells and take a peak at them under the microscope to see what kind of cells they are. Here is a perfect example of fatty cells which make up a lipoma - a benign lump that forms just beneath the skin.
