I am passionate about this rare breed
and about sharing information so that
others will come to know and love the Čuvač. The SLOVENSKÝ ČUVAČ [Pronounced SLO-ven-skee CHEW-votch] is a large, white, loving, loyal, intelligent, alert, confident, strong, companion and guardian. These are some of the characteristics of the Slovenský Čuvač, a rare breed dog, native to Slovakia. Admirers are taking note

of this wonderful, little known breed. I am one of those admirers—an American of Slovak heritage. For me, it was love at first sight and I wanted one of these beautiful dogs. I now share my life with five of these white ones—Valika, Basie, Arjun, Barča and Bella.

My “I” litter pups are all at their new homes. The ended up all across the USA. Texas, California, Washington, New Jersey and Tennessee. All the names had to start with I so we have an Ivy, Ianka, Imrich, Ibizo and Izzhe. Interesting choices by the owners. This was my last litter due to my health issues. No one else seems interested in breeding or importing new bloodlines so I fear the Slovensky Cuvac will fade away as a breed in America.
