Homemade diets are a whole lot harder than you might think they are! 🐾

The diets we recommend are Purina ProPlan, Science Diet and Royal Canin. Iams and Purina One are also two very good foods available at HEB, Target, etc. 🐶 🐱

End of Summer PSA 🚨 🚨

Please don’t spray an overheated dog with the garden hose!

Water sitting in a hose that’s been baking in the sun can come out SCALDING hot and can cause third degree burns!!

If they’re collapsing, vomiting, having seizures, or won’t stop panting, get to the nearest hospital NOW.

If they are otherwise okay (just hot), start cooling by getting them inside, offering water, and maybe putting some damp washcloths on their feet. 🐾

Dr. Tracy’s back for Part 2! 🐈

Today: What makes a good cat carrier? Think hard-sided, and secure—skip the flimsy mesh.

Bonus if you leave it out at home so kitty gets used to it. 🐾

Part 1 in Dr. Tracy’s Cat Carrier Crash Course 🐱

Today we’re breaking down the helpful features (like top-loading lids and easy-clean materials) vs. the not-so-helpful ones (flimsy bottoms and tricky latches that make exams harder).

Which type do you have at home? 👇

Share with us in the comments below how YOUR pet prefers to celebrate the Fourth of July!

No matter their holiday personality, a little preparation goes a long way. Keep pets safely indoors before the fireworks begin, make sure their ID tags and microchip information are up to date, and turn on the TV or some calming music to help drown out the noise.

Don't forget about the Texas heat, either! ☀️ If you're celebrating outside, be sure your pets have plenty of fresh water, access to shade, and avoid walking them on hot pavement during the hottest part of the day.

We hope you and your furry family members have a fun, safe, and Happy Fourth of July! ❤️🤍💙
