If you’ve been feeling like something is missing in your life, it’s probably because you haven’t adopted long-stay Stanley!!

Stanley came to the shelter with significant injuries, likely after being hit by a car. He was an absolute trooper for the vet team and has healed beautifully so he’s ready for his new home!

Stanley isn’t your typical cat. He acts more like a dog and may in fact think he’s a dog. He is highly treat motivated and will gladly “sit” for a Churu snack. Stanley is too smart for his tabby britches and that can get him into trouble. He may get overstimulated, so he needs someone who understands this behavior and is willing to continue his positive training to be the best boy he can be in a home. He loves pets in moderation and will thrive with lots of play time and activity in his home.

He is waiting to meet you! Come see him:

FREE spay/neuter, rabies vaccines, and microchips are rolling into town, and your pet is on the VIP list! 🐶🐱

Our partner, Emancipet is hosting FREE mobile clinics for pets in Austin and Travis County every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday through December. Here’s where they’ll be this weekend:
📍 Friday, Oct. 16: Turner Roberts Recreation Center, 7201 Colony Loop, Austin 78724
📍 Saturday, Oct. 17: Garrison District Park, 6001 Manchaca Rd, Austin 78745

Garrison tends to fill up fast, so Turner Roberts is a great pick if you want a better shot at a spot. Grab your pet and come say hi to the Emancipet team on Friday!

Before you go:
🐾 Pets must be at least 3 lbs and 3 months old for spay/neuter
🐾 The line starts at 6 AM, check-in starts at 8 AM, and surgery pick-up is at 5 PM
🐾 Please don’t feed your pet after midnight the night before surgery
🐾 Bring cats in secure carriers, puppies in crates, and dogs on a leash or in a carrier
🐾 Feral cats can’t be served at these clinics

Want extras? Low-cost healthy pet services like flea and tick prevention and more vaccines are available from 10 AM to 4 PM. Space is limited and services are first come, first served.

Emmy (ID #32723) went from hungry in a parking lot to queen of her foster home! 👑 She was found with her three kittens, thin and looking for her next meal, until some kind people brought the whole family to AAS in September.

These days, Emmy spends her time batting around catnip bananas, zooming through her play tunnel (it goes home with her!), and asking for belly rubs. She has decided humans are the best thing ever, so she’s hoping to be the only pet in her new home, where she can snuggle up with you at bedtime. 💛

Amor had the best time on her Doggy Day Out excursion! She explored, she relaxed, she enjoyed some TLC! Thank you for giving Amor an amazing day.

A note from his new best friends:
“Hello! I took Amor out for the weekend and we had the best time, I will definitely be participating in this program again. It was quite muddy this weekend so we spent a lot of time driving around town, neighborhood walks, pup cup runs, and of course, cozying up on the coach. The Starbucks line was very long, so we went to juiceland for her pup cup which was just bananas and peanut butter...Amor was not impressed. She still somehow managed to get the peanut butter off of each and every banana though!
She is a very chill, cuddly dog with the occasional post meal zoomies. She claimed one of my stuffed animals as her own and took it everywhere with her. I would love to do this again with Amor, or any pup who needs a weekend away. Big thanks to everyone who helped out in the process!”

Amor is still waiting for her forever home! Come meet her or hangout with her on Wednesdays or Saturdays!

Sweet and silly? What more could you ask for! Tessa loves being close to her people, she has a peaceful presence, is housetrained, furniture friendly and ready to lounge with her friends and get lots of snuggles. She is a playful girl and hasn’t met a squeaky toy she didn’t like. She would make the perfect study / work from home buddy or adventure buddy and everything in between!

Come meet her this week!

Our shelter is critically over capacity, and we have so many fabulous dogs who are ready for homes. Today we’re spotlighting Mr. Wendell! 🎾

This fetch-obsessed goofball has a grin that lights up a room and a mouth made for holding ALL the tennis balls. See the tennis balls in almost every photo!

He is housetrained, leash trained, knows his commands, and will happily work for treats. He also loves car rides and splashing in the water, then melts into your lap like a big marshmallow when playtime is over.

Ready for laughter and endless tennis ball chaos? Meet him here: https://bit.ly/4eol7rG 🐾
