It’s been a while since our CEO of Mayhem graced the internet with an official update, but today demanded recognition.

Today marks Cricket’s ONE-YEAR anniversary as a member of the Manchaca Village family!

Naturally, the team celebrated her in the only way befitting her status: royal fashion.

And because Cricket believes every celebration should also be educational, she graciously allowed the team to practice their Fear Free kitty restraint and handling techniques with her.

“Allowed” may be a generous interpretation.

Cricket would like it formally documented that:

Treats were expected.
Personal boundaries were heavily enforced.
Her participation was a gift to the team.
She remains in charge.

Warning: Extreme Cuteness Ahead!

We had the sweetest little visitors from Gold Ribbon Rescue stop by for their wellness checks and puppy vaccines!

These adorable puppies got lots of snuggles, a clean bill of health, and an important start toward staying happy and healthy as they grow.

Supporting rescue organizations means helping puppies like these get the healthy start they deserve before heading off to their forever homes—and we’re pretty sure our team didn’t mind the extra puppy cuddles either.

Thank you, Gold Ribbon Rescue, for trusting us with these precious little nuggets!

Cricket's Corner: It's Been a While...

Yes, I'm aware.
Apparently some of you have been asking, "Where's Cricket?"
First of all... I'm flattered.

Second... I haven't been missing. I've been busy.
Busy supervising.
Busy judging.
Busy making sure the clinic plants don't get too comfortable.

I've completed 37 surprise inspections, interrupted 14 staff meetings simply by existing, and stared down approximately 126 dogs. Most of them blinked first.

Crystal insists I've been "sleeping."
I prefer the term strategic energy conservation.

To everyone who thought I'd retired...
Please.
A CEO doesn't retire.
She simply allows her employees the illusion of independence.

Meet Dr. Mohan Iyengar!

We are thrilled to introduce Dr. Mohan Iyengar as the newest associate veterinarian joining the Manchaca Village Veterinary Care team!

Dr. Iyengar graduated from Texas A&M University in 2024 and has a special interest in soft tissue surgery. He is passionate about delivering exceptional care and building lasting relationships with pets and their families.

Dr. Iyengar will officially begin seeing patients on August 3rd, and we can't wait for our community to meet him! Be sure to keep an eye on our page—we'll be announcing details for a Meet & Greet Open House soon.

A Healthy Smile Means a Healthier Pet!

Did you know that by age 3, most dogs and cats already have some degree of dental disease?

Bad breath isn't just "dog breath" or "cat breath"—it's often one of the first signs of periodontal disease. Left untreated, dental disease can lead to pain, tooth loss, and bacteria entering the bloodstream, potentially affecting the heart, liver, and kidneys.
