Austin Boxer Rescue We are a non-profit organization dedicated to saving Boxer dogs from the entire state of Texas.

Our mission: To balance the health, safety, and welfare needs of canines in the state of Texas by providing nourishment and a safe environment for unwanted, stray, abused, and impounded Boxers. Once placed in new homes they become more than just pets, they become family.

BOXER SPOTLIGHT: ADNAN

Hi! My name is Adnan! I am a large, handsome 6-7 years old boy that is white with brindle spots that is ready to charm you with my bright eyes and smiling face! I was originally found as a stray but am thriving in my foster home! I have a mid-energy level, love to sleep at your feet and stroll around the backyard while occasionally rolling in the grass, chewing on bones, sometimes playing with toys, and is overall a gentle giant! I did well with meeting other dogs at Hewitt but I did chase the cats I was tested with so I likely need a home with no cats. I am interested in the resident dogs most of the time. I love to follow them and share beds with them if not following them around the house. I get excited when the humans get home or the other dogs get attention, so they just give me room to get my energy out. I love being by people's side, love getting their attention, and will ask for it if I need some love or reassurance. I am house trained, crate trained, doggy door trained, know basic commands, and love the foster teenagers in my home! I have had exposure to younger kids at the rescue's Adoption Days and at PetsMart. I do not realize my size so I could accidentally knock over a small child but mean no harm! My foster mom says my ideal home would be one with other dogs or with a family that is home alot and can spend a lot of time with me. BOXER SPOTLIGHT: MOOSE V

Moose V is an owner surrender looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Moose V! I am a handsome 9 year old flashy fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to one of my owner's in hospice care and my owners are financially unable to care for me any longer and are unable to take me with them when moving. I live with Chuy, who is also looking for a forever home, but it is not required that we be adopted together. I am described as friendly, smart, calm, affectionate, and obedient! I am said to be dog friendly but have never lived with cats so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. There are grandkids that come to my home and it is said that I am kid friendly! I am house trained but will need assistance with crate training in my forever home. I like dry dog food with a topper and at night I sleep in my bed on the floor. If the humans are away and I am left alone, I am sad but have Chuy to keep me company. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, blankets, and treats! My current owner says I "am very loving" and that I am "very good with adults and kids". BOXER SPOTLIGHT: MISSY II

Missy II is an owner surrender looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Missy II! I am a beautiful 4 year old flashy fawn girl that is an owner surrender due to my owner no longer being able to care for me. I am bonded with my companion, Chance III, so we are needing to be adopted together which means double the Boxer love and fun for you! I am described as active, smart, noisy, playful, and affectionate! I am territorial at the fence line with other dogs but get along great with my companion, Chance! It is said that I am not cat friendly and due to me being rambunctious, I would do best with older kids. I am house trained, know basic commands, and at night I sleep on the dog bed in the living room with Chance. I am not crate trained and would need assistance with that if it is required in my forever home. If the humans must be away I am fine and have Chance to keep me company. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. I am not fearful of anything and my most favorite thing in the world is my companion Chance! BOXER SPOTLIGHT: MILO V

Milo V is an owner surrender looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Milo V! I am a handsome 6 year old flashy fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to my family having a baby and moving into an apartment with no yard. I am described as friendly, active, and playful! I do not currently live with another dog but am said to be good around female dogs and unknown how I am with male dogs. I live with two cats and I am great with them! I will chase them but once I can tell they aren't playing anymore I will walk away. I currently live with 3 kids (ages 9 month to 4 years) and I am good with them, however I do not know my size and will accidentally knock over a smaller child if playing, but I mean no harm! I will bark at unfamiliar people in my home, especially if in my crate, but once I see my humans interacting with them I am fine. I am house trained, crate trained, have had basic training, some leash training, and at night I sleep in my crate in the living room. I enjoy toppings such as eggs, blueberries, and fish oil toppings on my food. If the humans must be away I am kept outside or in my crate during hot weather. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. I do not like brooms so I will not be assisting with house chores. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, playing fetch, sniff boards with hidden treats, and playing with the water hose! My current owner says I am "perfect" and am "super smart and a fast learner" and I agree! Duke XI is an owner surrender looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Duke XI! I am a handsome 8 year old fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to my family moving and not wanting me in the new home. I am described as friendly, active, protective, playful, affectionate, nervous, and obedient! It is important I have a dog and kid free home because I can be very stingy with my food and do not like people or dogs taking it away from me. I am house trained, crate trained, and sleeps anywhere near humans. I am not a fan of being left alone if the humans are away and will be sad. I am afraid of fireworks and my humans take precautions when they go off to help me know I'm safe and ok. When outside I do not attempt to jump fences/gates but I am curious what is under the grass and will dig to find out. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, rubberballs, and pig ears! Chuy III is an owner surrender looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Chuy III! I am a handsome 8 year old fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to one of my owner's in hospice care and my owners are financially unable to care for me any longer and are unable to take me with them when moving. I live with Moose, who is also looking for a forever home, but it is not required that we be adopted together. I am described as friendly, smart, calm, affectionate, and obedient! I am said to be dog friendly but have never lived with cats so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. There are grandkids that come to my home and it is said that I am kid friendly! I am house trained and will need assistance with crate training in my forever home. I like dry dog food with a topper and at night I sleep in my bed or the human's bed. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. I am not a fan of the vacuum or fly swatter but love riding in the car, hanging out watching tv, and treats! My current owner says I have a "great easy going personality" and that I am "very smart and good with kids". BOXER SPOTLIGHT: DUTCHESS II

Dutchess II is an ABR return looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Dutchess II! I am a beautiful 6 year old fawn girl that is an owner surrender after being adopted several years ago from ABR and my owners returning me due to a change in lifestyle and working longer hours. I am described as shy, active, protective, noisy, playful, affectionate, and nervous! I will completely ignore dogs like they don't exist unless they're coming inside my home. I have had exposure to my owner's mom's boxer and I got along well with her. I have never lived with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. There is an 11 year old human kid in the home but I am only allowed around her when the humans are holding or with her due to me being hyper and trying to play too rough with her so a proper introduction to kids would be necessary. I do not like people that randomly pet me or get too close to me and prefer to go to them first. I am house trained, crate trained, know basic commands, and at night I sleep on my bed outside the bedroom. I eat Stella, Chewy's, and Farmers Dog after being obese and discolored fur and all has since corrected with proper diet. If the humans must be away and I am left alone, I have high anxiety and will get very depressed, nervous, and whine. I am fearful of being outside and going for walks. I will pull to get back to the house as fast as possible. I don't like dry dog food, typical dog treats, or loud noises, specifically trucks. It is suspected that in a previous home I was left outside and is why I'm scared of going outside and being left there. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, anything to play tug of war with the humans, belly rubs, attention, mangos, steak, snuggling, slamming my body against the humans, swimming in pools, and loving my humans endlessly once I trust them! BOXER SPOTLIGHT: ZOEY XII

Zoey XII is an owner surrender looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Zoey XII! I am a beautiful 8 year old flashy fawn girl that is an owner surrender due to my owners having life changes and busy schedules. I am described as friendly, smart, calm, affectionate, quiet, and obedient! I am partially blind in one eye and have stiff back legs when I lie down in one place too long but I do not let that slow me down! I have lived with three dogs, four cats and kittens, chickens, baby chicks, and goats and am animal friendly! I seem to love dogs and cats seem to gravitate towards me. There are three kids in my home (ages 6 months-13 years) and I am good with them and other children that visit the home! I am house trained, crate trained, know basic commands, and at night I sleep in the entryway room with a jumbo memory foam bed. When the humans are away, I am not crated and am not destructive and will stay in an area if it is blocked off. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. I am afraid of loud noises, thunder, and fireworks. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, staying in the a/c when it's hot outside, belly rubs, hugs, treats, light walks, sleep, and getting love! My current owner says I am a calm and amazing dog that smiles when I'm happy.
