Shout out to our August Pet of the Month- Bentley! 🎉🐾

Mom shared that Bentley is 4 years old (birthday Sept 17, 2021) born in Oklahoma City! Bentley is a very sweet, social and quirky guy that is full of personality and loves to be the center of attention. He enjoys playing with his little brother, Kai, laying out in the sun and is obsessed with carrots (he paws the fridge to make sure nobody forgets!). He also enjoys walks, but loves the post-walk nap even more!

Today is Dr. Shifrin's last day before he begins his retirement! 🎉
It has been an absolute pleasure working alongside him over the years. His kindness, dedication, and compassion have made a lasting impact on our team and the many clients and patients he has cared for. He will be deeply missed by all of us.
While change is never easy, we couldn't be happier for him as he begins this exciting new chapter. We wish Dr. Shifrin a retirement that is filled with happiness, relaxation, and countless new adventures.

Join us in giving him a big round of "a-paws" as we cheer him on to all the wonderful adventures that await! Congratulations, Dr. Shifrin!

Meet Zmoose aka Zeus the Moose! He recently celebrated his 13th birthday so of course he had to enjoy his favorite treat, a banana split sundae! Zmoose is a retired service dog, but still is sharp on his commands and loves working still. We love you Zmoose!

Here is our July Pet of the Month, CoCo Chanel!

Mom said CoCo was born in Weslaco, TX. She was 2 pounds when she came home with us to start her life as our little princess! Coco isn’t a pet, she’s family, and is definitely a daddy’s girl! CoCo is the definition of timeless elegance wrapped up in a tiny bundle of love! At nearly 16 years young (she’ll celebrate her sweet 16 in October!), this precious sweet baby has spent a lifetime stealing hearts with her gentle spirit, loyal companionship, and unlimited love she has given to her family! We are thankful to god for her and look forward to many more years of loving her!

We would like to share our April Pet of the Month: Meet Bugsy! 😻His parent's shared some sweet things about him like how he is often called the ‘cutest cat on the planet’! He has a very sweet personality, with a bit of a rascally streak :) Our best guess of his birth date is 6/1/2024 (Bugsy and his brother were born on the streets of Gonzales, TX and taken to a shelter quite young, when their mom died).

Some of his favorite toys are spring toys, catnip stuffed fish, felt balls, fuzzy mice, a cat wand toy, and of course, boxes!

Bugsy is never late for any kind of food or treats, and while he loves his daily ration of Wellness Core Tasters with Weruva Gravy, he will absolutely devour any flavor of Churu!

He loves to spend his time watching the birds and squirrels, chasing his toys, napping in the sunshine, and wrestling with his big brother Spot, who is also a pirate kitty. They are litter mates, both born with only one eye and kinked tails, and they are very close, still sleeping together even at almost 2 years old! When he is in the mood, Bugsy chirps at us and flops on the floor, looking for a belly rub and a good scratch. In turn he will purr deeply and rub on us in complete delight. And he absolutely loves being brushed.

We are so grateful to Dr. Paglia for saving his eyesight. Bugsy contracted ocular FIP when he was about 9 months old, and we were sure he would lose his ability to see. Dr. Paglia recognized his condition right away, when other vets did not, and immediately started him on treatment. While he has some scarring in his cornea and secondary glaucoma, it does not stop him from being the most lovable, playful, and joyful cat. We are so lucky to have him (and his beautiful brother Spot)!

Welcome Cooper as our Pet of the Month for March! ❤️🐶❤️Mom was kind to share a little bit about him : Cooper is a happy little boy, born 8 years ago in Burnett County, and on March 22, will celebrate turning 9. Cooper loves to spend time playing with his two sisters, Abby and Ellie-mae. It doesn't matter if its with a ball, or just chase, he loves them dearly. Cooper loves his meal time and will promptly remind his mom or dad should it be late on arrival, because meal time means he gets a cookie if he finishes with a clean plate. When not eating or tormenting his sisters. Coop loves a good nap. He had a rough 2025 being diagnosed with diabetes last January, and and as a result going blind with severe cataracts last summer. Fortunately, Cooper met Dr. Shifrin at Eye Care for animals, who completed cataract surgery in both eyes. Now instead of banging into things, Cooper is back chasing birds. And rabbits and playing with his sisters.

We would like to show appreciation for our February Pet of the Month- Meet Maximus! His mom was kind enough to share a little bit about him. Fun facts about Maximus: he and his human sister, Lee, are birthday twins and they share an uncanny number of traits! From their deep love of food to their magical ability to appear out of thin air just as you turn around, to their shared clumsiness… these two are truly cut from the same cloth.

Since he was a pup, Maximus has been quite the little traveler. He’s road-tripped across multiple states and all over the Tri-State area with his family. He’s even tagged along with his actor sister to jobs and auditions; he once tried his paw at showbiz himself! Unfortunately, his acting career never quite took off; he flat-out refused to even taste the dog treats he was supposed to eat on camera. But he did flash his most dazzling Hollywood smile for the casting assistant’s photo, so really, a star moment nonetheless.

These days, Maximus’s all-time favorite hobby is napping (he’s a professional at it), and he’s lovingly known as “Mr. Kisses on Demand.” Recently, he underwent cataract surgery in both eyes and now he’s seeing the world crystal clear again. Huge thanks and a big YAY to the amazing ECFA team!

We got to see Ferris for a follow up on his eye care and his dad was kind enough to get a photo of him with Dr. Paglia and Jaclyn during their visit. We truly love providing care to all of our patients that come and see us! ❤️🐶

Welcome our January Pet of the Month: Sebastian! 🎉
Meet Sebastian aka Sebby! Mom shared that when he’s not wrestling with his little sister (yes, he even watches WWE with his family 😆), he’s showing off his sweet side. When Sebby’s feeling cuddly, he loves laying on mom’s head and giving lots of face kisses. And don’t even get him started on Churu treats; he goes absolutely wild for them!
