WHAT A WEEK! We are in the heat of it. Literally. Temperatures in the mid-high 90's with heat indexes reaching around 120. Last night at 8:30, the heat index was still at 106.
So that has definitely shifted our play and outdoor time. Most of the dogs have little motivation by mid-day for much of anything outside. Walks are good in the mornings. *NOTING HERE NOW - there will be no more walks between 11am and 8pm until further notice*. Each dog is different. The dogs that want to sunbathe are mostly my short hair dogs and even with sunbathing, they aren't out there too long. Water is mandatory on walks and outside at all times now.
I'm so incredibly grateful for Addy these past three weeks. She will still be available but is starting her summer courses next week, limiting her availability.
Despite the heat - we are having some fun! We are engaging in our story time, enrichment time, yoga, working for our treats, belly rubs, and I know we have some birthdays ahead.

Just catching up with last week's playtime!
PPPC has been busy with packed daycare days. We have had some humid hot days with feels like 100 degree days - so while some of the dogs are great with hot, some are not. With heat over 80, we have some who cannot be out more than 15 minutes at a time. We watch carefully to make sure everyone cools down properly. And we have been finding new ways to stay active indoors and we are still implementing story time for some relaxing connection. Seriously, the dogs really love listening to me read. Most of the time they sit down and watch me read until they fall asleep.
We have also been busy with drop-ins! Drop-ins aren't just for people out of town. We drop-in for people who have difficulty moving around and even scoop litter boxes.
We are here for a lot of different jobs. Summer is busy for sure, but if we can make it happen - we will!
And again, feel free to reach out about boarding. People do change plans and sometimes there is an opening where there wasn't before. I hope to see your paws soon.

We are back full steam!
A little time off and I'm enjoying my return with every drop that I see. It's been a gift to be with all of them this week.
Addy is such a wonderful assistant. If you need anything, even last minute, please reach out, you never know where schedules need to shift.

Ready to play!
We are back in full summer swing. Because of boarding, remember that the daily daycare might have to be altered. Daycare will serve need based situations first.
We are so excited to be apart of your paws summer. Feel free to reach out, while we are mostly booked, you never know when something might change.

There was rain, there was sun. We are certainly enjoying the sun when we can and also learning new ways to stay active inside every day too.
We are out of the office for now. We sprung into spring quickly and now we are preparing for a beautifully busy summer.
Don't hesitate to reach out for summer dates - we all mostly full, but there are some days here and there AND you never know if someone has a last minute change of plans and dates open up.

See you June 1st for the most part. A few of you I will see sooner. Summer fun, here we come ...

Another week with sunshine! With the wonderful days (while still very humid) we were able to get some outdoor activities in our play days. We had lots of walks, runs in the yard, water play, and some general sunbathing. Inside we also had new toys in the box that were well loved, yoga, story time, and the enrichment treat puzzles are always a favorite.
But the best part of the week - lots of belly, ear, and chin scratches!

Reminder PPPC is closed May 21-28! We are preparing for the summer shenanigans and will be so excited to see you all in the months to come.

Some sun got us outside and enjoying the yard as well as walks this past week. A few outings and of course, let's not forget the kitties want to get attention too! Best part of this week - my star helper is now home from college! YAY!
We are certainly in for some summer adventures. She has a few openings in the schedule for summer. So if you are interested, you should reach out sooner than later. She is definitely your cat girl if you are in need of help with your cats.
