Hot summer pavement can burn your pet’s paw pads faster than you might think ☀️🐾

If the pavement feels too hot for the back of your hand for 7 seconds, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws. Asphalt and concrete can quickly cause painful burns, especially during the hottest parts of the day.

To help keep your pets safe this summer:
• Walk during early mornings or evenings
• Stick to grass or shaded paths when possible
• Watch for limping or excessive paw licking after walks
• Never leave pets standing on hot pavement

A little extra caution can help keep those paws happy and healthy all summer long!

Did you know that even microchipped pets can have trouble getting home if their contact information isn’t up to date? A microchip only works if the information connected to it is current!

This month, we’re encouraging all pet parents to stop by for a quick and free microchip scan to:
✔️ Make sure your pet’s chip is working properly
✔️ Verify the chip number
✔️ Confirm your contact information is current
