🐾 Happy National Unsweetened Carob Day! 🐾

Did you know that while chocolate is toxic to dogs, unsweetened carob is a safe and delicious alternative? ❤️ That’s why we use unsweetened carob chips in our Paws Ahoy cookies—so your pup can enjoy a “chocolate chip” style treat without the worry.

✨ Why we love carob:
🐶 Dog-safe (no theobromine or caffeine!)
🤎 Naturally sweet
🌾 Rich in fiber to support healthy digestion
🍃 Naturally contains antioxidants
🦴 A source of minerals like calcium and potassium

At Best Friends Dog Bakery, every ingredient is chosen with your dog’s health and happiness in mind. Because they deserve treats that taste amazing and are made with safe, wholesome ingredients. 🐾

Have you ever given your pup a carob treat? Tell us if they’re a fan! 👇🐶

🐾 A Friendly Reminder for Our Dog-Loving Community 🐾

We absolutely LOVE seeing your pups at the farmers market. They make our Saturdays even better! ❤️

Last week, we used a heat gun to check the temperature of the pavement, and the readings were shocking. Even when the air temperature feels manageable, the concrete and asphalt can easily reach 125°–145° or even hotter.

As someone who used to work in a veterinary clinic, I can’t tell you how many dogs we saw every summer with burned paw pads. Their paws were raw, red, blistered, and incredibly painful—all from walking on hot pavement for just a few minutes.

Please help us keep your furry family members safe:
🐾 If you’re visiting the market after about 8:00–9:00 AM, consider using:
• Dog booties
• A stroller
• Carrying smaller dogs
• Staying on shaded areas whenever possible

💧 Always bring fresh water.
☀️ Limit time on hot pavement.
🌡️ If the air temperature is above 88°F and the real feel is in the 90s or higher, your dog can overheat much faster than you think. Dogs can suffer heat exhaustion and heat stroke just like people.

A good rule to remember:
If it’s too hot for your bare feet, it’s too hot for their paws.

➡️ Swipe to the next photo to see what a burned paw pad can look like. It isn’t meant to scare anyone—it’s simply to help spread awareness and hopefully prevent another dog from getting hurt.

Let’s work together to keep every tail wagging this summer. ❤️🐶
