Adopt a River Cat Trap-Neuter-Return, cat rescue and cat welfare Founded in 1997, Adopt a River Cat (A.R.C.) Over the last two and a half decades, A.R.C.

is a no-kill organization based in the Fox Valley area that is dedicated to the spaying and neutering of feral cats and rescue of kittens born to feral cats. Born outdoors, these cats have adopted an extreme distrust or fear of humans, and as such cannot properly be rehabilitated as household pets. These homeless community cats tend to form colonies, where they interbreed and soon a population explosion occurs. The traditional reaction, or solution, to this problem has been to trap and kill the cats, but as it is a very costly method, it is only done in spurts, and as such, barely makes a dent in the population while opening new opportunities for colony growth. has been committed to providing a humane alternative to this method, by placing adoptable cats and kittens into no-kill shelters, or by following the standards of Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Release (TNVR). This approach mandates that feral cats be trapped, sterilized, and returned to a managed colony where food, shelter and medical care is provided.

For those of us who need encouragement when our kitties venture a bit too far from home and we haven't seen them in a bit. We follow this gentleman and his special German Shepherd Pal. Always think positive when we "lose" a kitty.

A church in Mexico has an unexpected greeter, and people can't get enough of him.

Every day before Mass, a black-and-white cat named Coco waits by the entrance, gently reaching out with his paw to "bless" people as they walk into church. Worshippers often pause to receive the affectionate tap, and the wholesome tradition has made Coco a local celebrity.

Videos of the friendly feline have spread across social media, with many joking that he's the unofficial pope of the parish. Whether you see it as a blessing or simply a sweet gesture, Coco has brought smiles to countless visitors and become a cherished part of the church community.

Sometimes the best welcome comes with four paws.

Jasper was Garfield's partner in crime, they lived outside for a decade and a half. They had wonderful caretakers who got prescription Revolution for them and provided shelters and deworming for them. They were happiest together. Garfield passed away last year. Jasper was never fully tame like Garfield was. We think he was Garfield's protector. The last couple of years since we pulled them from outdoors our amazing volunteer Sharon and also an animal rescuer was able to tame this warrior. She took him to all his vet visits, made sure his medication was dosed properly, and provided him a safe and peaceful environment with Garfield and new friends. He and Garfield are having a blast on the rainbow bridge. RIP Jasper, you did well. Sharon Tritt
