Please keep an eye out for these little ones. They were holed up on Spruce St near the armory. If you see these pups, please call dispatch at 417-316-6006 and ask for Animal Control. Please Do Not try to catch them, they are very skittish. I need them to stay in one place so they can be trapped. Thanks for your help!

Never forget 🐾

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19hVD5oHMG/

25 YEARS LATER, WE REMEMBER THE ANIMAL HEROES OF 9/11 🇺🇸🐾

When the World Trade Center towers fell on September 11, 2001, hundreds of specially trained search-and-rescue dogs were deployed to Ground Zero, the Pentagon and other affected areas.

Working beside their human handlers, they climbed across unstable wreckage, squeezed into dangerous spaces and searched tirelessly for survivors. As hope of finding people alive began to fade, they continued the heartbreaking task of locating those who had been lost.

Other dogs provided something equally important: comfort.

Therapy dogs sat beside exhausted emergency workers, grieving families and traumatised survivors. They offered warmth and companionship during moments when words simply weren’t enough.

The animals could not understand the enormity of what had happened, but they understood their purpose. They searched when asked, remained beside their handlers and brought comfort simply by being there.

Some suffered cuts, dehydration and exhaustion, while handlers carefully washed dust and debris from their eyes, paws and coats. Contrary to a commonly repeated claim, most of the search dogs did not die shortly afterwards—but their service placed enormous physical and emotional demands upon them.

Today, none of the known 9/11 search dogs remain alive. Yet their courage, loyalty and service have never been forgotten.

Twenty-five years later, we remember every life lost, every person who ran towards danger—and the remarkable animals who stood faithfully beside them.

Sumo is Still looking for his new home. If you've always wanted a German Shepherd but couldn't because of the size, Sumo is your boy! He only weighs 30 lbs and is fun size. He has a huge, quirky, fun loving personality. He's good with everyone, cats are unknown though. Sumo is only about 10-11 months old. So he has a lot of puppy in him. His puppy vaccinations are completed and he's been wormed. He will also have his rabies vaccination, a microchip and a neuter certificate to be used locally that covers the cost upon adoption. The adoption fee is 50.00. Click on the link to complete an application.

To be clear(er) I do Not believe they were dumped. They were coming to a persons house and then leaving again for a few weeks. That's why I believe they live nearby. This was on East Delta. They could have even been going thru the fields over that way.

***I am posting them one more time.***

These boys are well cared for, they have shiny coats, they're well fed and slightly overweight. They are/were house dogs. I can Not believe they were dumped and don't belong to anyone. Someone has to recognize these guys. They were picked up on E. Delta last week.
Unfortunately, if they are not claimed by their owner, I have to put them up for adoption. Adoption is all well and good, they're fantastic dogs! But I am concerned there is some elderly person not on social media or someone that doesn't know where to look, and missing their boys. Please look at them again, share their picture. If you have any idea where they may belong, please call dispatch at 417-316-6006 and ask for Animal Control with any info.
