🍂🐾 Before your dog dives headfirst into that leaf pile… take a closer look!

Crunchy fall leaves may seem like harmless fun, but damp, decaying leaf piles can hide more than you might expect—including mold, mushrooms, ticks, fleas, sharp sticks, and even wildlife.

Moldy organic material can be especially concerning if eaten. Watch for signs like vomiting, drooling, diarrhea, weakness, agitation, tremors, or seizures after a possible exposure.

🍁 A few simple precautions can help:
🐾 Supervise leaf-pile adventures
🍄 Don’t let pets eat leaves or mushrooms
🕷️ Check for ticks after outdoor play
🧹 Remove old, wet piles of leaves from the yard

Fall is meant to be enjoyed—just keep an eye on what your curious pet is sniffing! 🐕🍂

If you think your pet may have eaten something harmful or is showing concerning symptoms, contact your veterinarian.

🦷🐾 Bad breath might be more than just “pet breath!”

Dental disease is incredibly common in dogs and cats—and because pets can’t tell us when their mouth hurts, it’s important to know what to watch for.

Keep an eye out for:
🦷 Bad breath
🐾 Red, swollen, or bleeding gums
🦷 Yellow or brown tartar buildup
🐾 Drooling or pawing at the mouth
🦷 Difficulty chewing or changes in appetite
🐾 Loose or missing teeth
🦷 Changes in behavior or becoming less playful

Dental problems can be painful and may become more serious if left untreated. Regular dental checkups can help catch problems early and keep those tails wagging and whiskers happy. 💚

When in doubt, check it out! Talk with your veterinarian if you notice changes in your pet’s mouth, eating habits, or behavior.

🐾 Is your pet slowing down—or could they be hurting?

Arthritis can be easy to miss because pets are often very good at hiding discomfort. Small changes like hesitating on stairs, sleeping more, moving slowly after resting, limping, licking at joints, or becoming less playful may be signs that something hurts.

💚 Getting older doesn’t mean your pet has to live with pain. There are many ways to help pets with arthritis stay comfortable, active, and enjoying the things they love.

If you’ve noticed changes in the way your pet moves or behaves, talk with your veterinarian. Early recognition can make a big difference!

🐶🐱 You know your pet best—if something seems different, it’s worth checking out.

🎒🐾 Back to school means a big routine change for our pets, too!

After a summer filled with activity, attention, and people around the house, suddenly having everyone gone for school and work can be confusing—and sometimes stressful—for dogs and cats. You may notice more whining or meowing, pacing, destructive behavior, accidents, changes in appetite, or a pet who suddenly seems extra clingy or bored.

Help make the transition easier by keeping meals, walks, and bedtime consistent; providing puzzle toys and enrichment; creating a comfortable place to relax; and making time for exercise and one-on-one attention when you’re home. ❤️

If your pet is having a particularly difficult time adjusting, talk with your veterinarian. Anxiety and behavior changes can often be managed—and sometimes they can signal an underlying medical concern.

📚 New school year. New routine. Same love. 🐶🐱
