Yes, dogs can eat strawberries as long as they are given in moderation. Strawberries have many benefits for dogs, such as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. However, eating too many can cause digestive issues in dogs so it is important to monitor just how much you're feeding them.

Diabetes is a disease caused by a lack of insulin, the hormone that regulates how sugar is absorbed and used by the cells within the body. It is most often seen in dogs between the ages of 5 and 7, with female dogs being more susceptible than males. Every dog is unique, but keeping an eye out for irregularities in your dog’s behavior is key to determining if your dog may be at risk. Watch out for extreme thirst, frequent urination, notable exhaustion, and lower than normal activity, and obesity.

Your dog’s size and energy output determine how much you should feed them. A pup with normal activity levels should receive “maintenance energy” whereas a lap dog requires just about 10% of that. An active pupper who exercises outdoors regularly would likely need an additional 20-40% than your average dog. Adjusting portion sizes is normal as you learn your dog’s ideal maintenance amount. Keep in mind that the weather can play a role in how much your dog should eat. Be sure to consult with us to develop a feeding schedule that is best for your furry family members! We all want our homes to smell nice and clean; however, as pet owners, we have to be extra careful that whatever we are using isn’t harmful to our fur babies. Incense is dangerous to cats as their sense of smell is 14 times stronger than that of humans and the smell can be too intense for them to handle. It also produces smoke, which can be bad for their respiratory system and increase the risk of your cat developing asthma. Opt for cat-friendly methods of keeping your house smelling fresh and clean by dusting frequently, using baking soda to absorb odors, having fragrant plants such as rosemary or sage, or simmering a pot of water with cinnamon sticks, apples, or vanilla. Stay current with your cats' healthcare needs and schedule their appointment by calling (207) 621-2287.
