Jasper is a very "curious" cat. He will involve himself in all your daily chores to include dish washing, laundry and mopping. He needs to be in every room you are in and will be in all your business. He is a GENTLE soul who loves to play, be mischievous and request "lovings" and pets. His antics are funny and he never fails to not put a smile on your face. We have enjoyed fostering him. He is neutered and fully vaccinated to include a microchip. Juniper was taken into temporary foster along with her mom and siblings with the promise of support of a local rescue. When it was time for the kittens to "hit the adoption floor" the rescue ghosted the foster. Without going into too many details, the temp caretaker had numerous health conditions which required urgent placement for this foster family. Juniper continues to surprise me. She is sweet, gentle, loving and affectionate. She will be shy in her new home at first, but will flourish with a supportive family to reassure her. Dwayne was brought in to Best Friends Animal Clinic as an injured stray cat that had been living in a neighborhood in North Augusta for multiple years. He was covered in sores, fleas, lice, a rash, abscesses and wounds from head to toe. His combo test with a secondary blood text confirmed FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) a slow acting virus. He was treated for 2 months before a neighbor got frustrated with him and abandoned him at the vet for euthanasia. The clinic reached out and I agreed to take him into foster. He is all healed now and ready for a home of his own. He is great with confident adult cats, loves ALL KITTENS and does good with my 2 special needs adult cats. He is dominate and will pick on insecure shy cats (so he is labeled cat selective).

FIV positive cats like Dwayne can thrive in multi-cat households. The condition is not transmissible through shared litter boxes, water bowls, grooming, or food dishes. Dwayne is up-to-date on his veterinary care, neutered, and microchipped.

Riley was previously adopted and returned through no fault of his own. The home's 4-year-old had not learned how to respect a cat's personal space. Riley is incredibly sweet with the most adorable oversized ears and canine teeth that stick out over his lips.. Loves exploring new heights and investigating. Energetic, playful, and highly entertaining. He is a certified, purring lap cat. Fantastic feline companion. Great with respectful dogs, wonderful with cats, but needs older, cat-savvy children. He is ready to bring the perfect balance of play and purrs to his forever family!

Fat Fat is the perfect balance of adventure, play and affection. She enjoys chasing a laser pen, keeping both her and you entertained for hours. She also likes toys on a string or just the string itself. She is always looking for a new place to explore so be sure to keep your cabinets closed otherwise she may rearrange your pots and pans for fun! She is great with dogs and cats (even the pesky foster sister pup who is always looking for a feline playmate she can tote around in her mouth so she can lick and love on her). She is good with children over the age of 5, unsure about younger than 5 because she has not been exposed to them. She is looking for a forever family that will appreciate her fun adventures and respect her personal space. If you have a home filled with love and respect, Fat Fat is ready to be your new best friend!

Update on this spunky little girl. Her skin infection has healed and her URI is almost completely gone. She is steadily gaining weight and doesn’t let her bad eye get in the way of climbing and roughhousing with her roommates.

Update: we had to let mama Mimi cross the rainbow bridge. 🥲 She was not a candidate for adoption but the plan was to TNR her when she got well. She didn’t get well and testing revealed she had a blood borne illness which would affect her quality of life. These are the sad times in rescue but still grateful she found us and would not have suffered alone on the streets. Her kittens are still getting over their URI but on the road to recovery.

Vet visit this morning for a sickly mama. 😔 Kittens have been weened and she will be released after spay but we gotta get her well first! She’s been battling a rough URi and doesn’t have a great bedside manner.
