Some rides just fill your heart. ❤️
This past weekend I got to ride with Melissa and her red mare Stella at Salamonie for the second year in a row, and I’m still smiling about it.
When we pulled in Friday evening, Melissa told me that loading Stella was the least stressful part of her whole day. Friends, I could have cried. That one sentence reminded me exactly why I do what I do.
I first met these two about two years ago, when Melissa reached out for help with trailer loading. Through several travel lessons, they made incredible progress. Then Melissa did something really special: she restarted Stella herself, with my guidance, and built a much more solid foundation under her. That took patience, heart, and a whole lot of trust.
Now look at them. They’re out on the trails, growing into a wonderful team. What impresses me most is how Stella tackles every obstacle in her path with zero hesitation. It’s just, “Yes ma’am, I got this!” 🐴
That kind of confidence doesn’t come from nowhere. It comes from a horse who trusts her person completely. Stella’s faith in Melissa’s leadership is a beautiful thing to witness, and I feel so lucky to have a front-row seat.
Melissa, I’m so proud of you both. Here’s to many more miles together. ❤️
