Enjoy these pictures of some cuteness! 🐴🤩There is nothing like seeing new foals on the ground and a momma being a great mom to her new baby!

Making sure the mare and foal are both healthy and happy after delivery is an important step in ensuring the foal will thrive and mare will be able to re-breed. All colostrum is not created equal. Improper latching while nursing, or poor colostrum quality and quantity can have detrimental effects on a foal and their immune system. A thorough physical exam and quantitative measurement of IgG to determine adequate colostrum intake for a foal is always recommended! The first case of New World Screwworm has been confirmed in Texas. There is no immediate danger or threat here, but we will continue to stay up to date from the USDA on potential spread/infestation and migration over the next several months. Screwworm usually enters through wounds or openings(nose, v***a, etc) in cattle. As USDA reports, rare instances have even involved human infestation. Boots are on the ground to control and quarantine the area in Texas, currently.

She and her husband are excited to make the move to Middle Tennessee and getting to work with and know each of you!
