Do we ever do anything as a team outside of work? Sure we do! What kind of things do we do? We hang out with animals, OBVIOUSLY! 😆 Some of us ventured out to Choctafaula Ranch over the weekend and had GREAT time with each other AND with all of the animals! Multiple posts with pics and videos upcoming!!

What do we do when the owner of one of our doggo patients tells us that her "Gotcha Day" falls while she is boarding with us this weekend? We do what anyone else would do: we find her a hat, post some pics, and celebrate! Happy "Gotcha Day" to Coco Loco!!!

Scaly & Feathered friends welcome here! Dr. Dixon has a passion for all creatures whether they have 4 feet 🐾 , 2 feet 🦅 , or no feet 🐍!

Today, Dr. Dixon and her team helped this handsome 27 year old Corn Snake, William, who was having a little trouble shedding his skin. With a little veterinary TLC, William is on his way to feeling like a young guy again!

Today is World Rabies Day, a day meant to raise awareness for prevention of human deaths due to rabies transmitted by canines. Thankfully, we have been free of canine-related rabies deaths in the U.S. since 2007 (according to the AVMA), and the easiest way for that to continue is to make sure that you keep your canine (and feline) pets up to date on their rabies vaccination! So, when you get that little reminder from your friends at East University Veterinary Hospital (or whichever clinic/hospital you use, though we're kind of partial to EUVH) make sure you give us a call to schedule that next rabies shot so that we can ALL stay rabies-free!

Today is Remember Me Thursday, a day meant to bring awareness to all the orphaned pets awaiting adoption at shelters and to celebrate the pets that have found a home. CARE Humane Society here in Auburn has SO MANY dogs and cats waiting to find their forever home, so please give them a call or visit them online to see if one of these amazing dogs or cats waiting for a home could be the next member of your family. And, as a way of celebrating those pets who have been adopted and are living their BEST lives, please enjoy these photos of pets that some of our employees have rescued via adoption (in order of appearance... Daisy, Comet (CARE), Wanda, Harley (a.k.a. "Big Dog"), Junebug (CARE), Venus, and Ozzie)! Finally, if YOU have a pet or pets who you've adopted and are living the dream, post pictures of them in the comments!!!

It's always a good day when Kane drops by to pay us a visit! Not only did Kane receive his flu shot today, but he also received his ProHeart 12 shot that will protect him against heartworms for an entire year! Even though we are headed towards cooler weather (hopefully), we all know that living in the south means mosquitos, and if there's mosquitos, then there's a chance for heartworms. If you want more information on protecting your dog or dogs from heartworms for an entire year with just one ProHeart 12 shot (and/or to talk about other preventative options that we offer) or to schedule an appointment, give us a call for more information! Our hospital will be closed Saturday, September 5th through Monday, September 7th for the Labor Day holiday weekend.
