🐴 SKM Dressage is Now Accepting New Virtual Dressage & Western Dressage Students! 🐴

All you need is Facebook to go virtual!

With more than 20 years of professional training and coaching experience, I've had the privilege of training with many of the world's top international dressage riders, including extensive work with Christine Traurig, current U.S. Olympic Dressage Team Coach. Throughout my career, I've successfully developed horses and riders from the basics through the FEI levels, competed internationally, and helped students achieve everything from building confidence in the saddle to earning National Championship titles and other top honors in the show ring.

One of my greatest passions is developing horses that aren't considered "traditional" dressage breeds. Over the years, I've successfully trained and competed a wide variety of non-traditional dressage horses, helping each one reach its full potential through correct, individualized training. I believe every horse has strengths to offer, and I enjoy helping riders discover just how much their horse is capable of achieving.

I also specialize in working with anxious riders and those looking to rebuild confidence after setbacks. My educational background in psychology and mental health counseling provides a unique perspective that complements my coaching. I understand how fear, anxiety, and self-doubt affect performance, and I help riders develop not only their technical skills but also the confidence and mindset needed to enjoy the process and succeed in the saddle.

My teaching philosophy is built on correct fundamentals, thoughtful horsemanship, and individualized instruction. Every horse-and-rider partnership is different, and I tailor each lesson to meet your goals—whether you're interested in classical dressage, western dressage, preparing for competition, developing a non-traditional dressage horse, or simply creating a happier, more harmonious partnership with your horse.

Virtual coaching provides detailed, personalized instruction that fits your schedule while giving you the tools to continue making meaningful progress between lessons.

If you're looking for an experienced trainer who understands both the horse and the rider, I'd love to work with you.

Learn more about my background, training philosophy, and lesson options at www.skmdressage.com, or send me a message. I look forward to helping you and your horse reach your goals!

Talented young rider looking for her next horse. Rider is 14yrs old and has been doing dressage since she was 6yrs old. She has shown through 3rd level, She is a C2 in pony club, has participated in 2 USDF regional championships and always in the ribbons. In 2022 she attended festival of champions for dressage seat equitation medal finals. She has been selected to attend the USDF FEI youth clinic the last 2 years with George Williams and Sabine Schut-Kery. Recently she was selected to ride in a Dressage 4 Kids clinic with Lendon Gray. Her goals are to finish her bronze medal, show 3rd level or above next show season, qualify for and attend regional championships, and qualify for NAYC at the FEI junior level. Horse needs to be schooling 3rd level or above. Our budget isn’t big so we are looking for a unique opportunity. Maybe your kid is off to college and their horse is just sitting at home? Maybe you don’t have time to devote to riding and your fancy horse is just sitting? Maybe you want more show miles on your horse, but you don’t want to be the one to get them out there? Maybe you have a schoolmaster that is looking to move on to their next home? Or maybe you just want to help a junior rider realize their dreams?! We are open to lease, lease to own, purchase or an other unique situation that may be available. I am happy to discuss details, answer questions and provide references.
