This young man deserves a post of his own. ❤️
I had the pleasure of teaching him at a clinic last weekend, and Mav and his pony absolutely won all the cute points!
During our lesson, I shared that I’m also the child of a horse trainer, and we both agreed that one of the best perks is getting free lessons. 😅
At the end of the group ride, I asked each kid what their favorite part of the lesson had been. One said going fast in the canter. Another said riding the patterns. Then it was Mav’s turn.
Without hesitation, he exclaimed, “You!”
Talk about a heart-melting moment. 🥹
His mom, , is clearly doing something right. Raising kind, confident, and appreciative young horsemen is every bit as important as teaching riding skills.
There are countless reasons I love what I do, but working with kids—the grassroots of our sport—is definitely near the top of the list. Watching their confidence grow, their love for horses deepen, and their personalities shine is such a privilege.
