We are hosting a community volunteer day at the barn June 13th.

And last but not least June 20th we are hosting an open house for the community!

April 1 at 5pm at Care Fur Life Horse Rescue (3515 S 282nd st, Auburn WA, 98001)

Join us for a hands-on, practical workshop focused on improving your horse’s comfort, performance, and overall well-being. Laura Pauls will cover the fundamentals of saddle and saddle pad fitting, including how to recognize when adjustments are needed and how to tell when a fit is working well for your horse. You’ll also learn how anatomical grooming can support your horse’s body, movement, and relaxation, empowering you with simple, effective grooming routines you can confidently use every day.

All the animals are doing great today, despite the heavy rain and wind!

Thank you to everyone who has checked in on us, signed up to volunteer, donated, and encouraged us along the way.

A huge shout out to Rise bakery in the Kent Valley and Sadie. They donated a pallet of 50lb bag bags of cornmeal! Our volunteers were able to bring that down to the Food bank today.

And to all the staff and volunteers who have been working around the clock caring for these animals. We couldn’t do this without you all!

We even found time to get the Christmas tree up in the barn.🎄🤍

EMERGENCY SUPPORT NEEDED:
As many of you know our community is in the midst of a natural disaster.

While Care Fur Life is safe from the flooding on top of the west hill of Kent. Our neighbors and local farmers in the valley are losing their homes and livelihoods to this flood water.

CFL received a call at 1am on 12/13/25 that Briscot Farm and all their neighbors were flooding and the water was rising fast.

We headed to the scene immediately and began evacuating as many animals as we could. We successfully evacuated
3 pigs
3 donkeys
3 cows
3 dogs
5 goats
3 draft horses
1 standard horse
1 cat
20+birds

Here’s where you come in! We have a long road ahead as these families and there animals don’t have homes to return to.

WAYS TO SUPPORT BRISCOT FARM:
-Donate directly to their go fund me! The link is tagged in the comments of this post.

-Volunteer: Sign up for a shift to come help muck stalls, clean water buckets, feed, and groom. These will be 2-3 hour shifts, prior animal care experience is preferred(18+ only)

-Donate Supplies, we only had enough time to get the animal out. Briscot farm lost all their hay and feed, their equipment(tractor, trailer, tack, etc), and their home.

-Timothy hay
-Straw and Shavings
-Equine Senior feed and Alfalfa Pellets
-salt blocks on ropes
-Goat Feed and mineral tubs
-Pig Feed
-All Flock bird

-Drop off frozen meals and food for Farmer Grace and her family.

Lastly, I want to thank you all, our community. You continue to show up for these animals and these local farmers. Whether you were wading through the flood water evacuating the animals with us or sending us encouraging messages online. It all helps us keep pushing forward. We will get through this together!

Early Saturday morning, without warning, a flood threatened the lives of over 30 resident animals that the community has loved and shared for nearly a decade. Care Fur Life Rescue is seen here assisting Briscot Farm with the evacuation of the animals.
Unfortunately the water continued to rise and we did lose everything we own to operate the landnark for the community. Tractors, feed equipment for grooming and caring for the animals, the childrens play yard and toys. We are elated to announce that one of the homes did survive!!
We humbly ask that you share the go fund me link in comments and help us all get back home together again as quickly as possible. It is imperative to the health of the animals for us to return home as soon as possible. All resources will be directed towards the animals care, vetting and rebuilding of habitats to return safely home.
Thank you so very much for your support during this tragic time. We look forward to the day we can open the gate and see your faces again. Please follow our page for updates on our progress and updates on the animals.
