EMERGENCY SUPPORT NEEDED:
As many of you know our community is in the midst of a natural disaster.
While Care Fur Life is safe from the flooding on top of the west hill of Kent. Our neighbors and local farmers in the valley are losing their homes and livelihoods to this flood water.
CFL received a call at 1am on 12/13/25 that Briscot Farm and all their neighbors were flooding and the water was rising fast.
We headed to the scene immediately and began evacuating as many animals as we could. We successfully evacuated
3 pigs
3 donkeys
3 cows
3 dogs
5 goats
3 draft horses
1 standard horse
1 cat
20+birds
Here’s where you come in! We have a long road ahead as these families and there animals don’t have homes to return to.
WAYS TO SUPPORT BRISCOT FARM:
-Donate directly to their go fund me! The link is tagged in the comments of this post.
-Volunteer: Sign up for a shift to come help muck stalls, clean water buckets, feed, and groom. These will be 2-3 hour shifts, prior animal care experience is preferred(18+ only)

-Donate Supplies, we only had enough time to get the animal out. Briscot farm lost all their hay and feed, their equipment(tractor, trailer, tack, etc), and their home.

-Timothy hay
-Straw and Shavings
-Equine Senior feed and Alfalfa Pellets
-salt blocks on ropes
-Goat Feed and mineral tubs
-Pig Feed
-All Flock bird
-Drop off frozen meals and food for Farmer Grace and her family.
Lastly, I want to thank you all, our community. You continue to show up for these animals and these local farmers. Whether you were wading through the flood water evacuating the animals with us or sending us encouraging messages online. It all helps us keep pushing forward. We will get through this together!
