🐾 Annual exams can make all the difference! 🐾

This sweet 5-year-old Labrador Retriever came in for her routine wellness care, and during her exam, we discovered a mast cell tumor that we’ll be removing.

The really important part of this story? ❤️ Her amazing owner!

She stays on top of her pets’ veterinary care, knows them well, and noticed a lump that didn’t seem quite right. Instead of waiting to see what happened, she brought her girl in right away — and that quick action matters!

We are so fortunate to have clients who are this dedicated to their pets. She is truly an incredible pet owner, and her girl is one lucky pup to have such a wonderful advocate in her corner. 🐶❤️

🐾 BEFORE ➡️ AFTER 🐾

When this sweet rescue first came to see us, it was hard to see just how uncomfortable she was. Her skin was severely inflamed, she had almost no fur, and she had clearly been through a lot. 💔

Diagnostics revealed Demodex with a secondary pyoderma, along with a positive test for Anaplasmosis. She had a long road ahead of her, but she wasn’t giving up. ❤️

And neither was 4ever Yours Rescue Inc

Today, Trooper came back for her recheck… and WOW. 🥹

Look at her NOW! Her skin is healing, her beautiful fur is coming back, and that sweet face is looking so much happier and healthier. Most importantly, she is feeling so much better! 🐶✨

These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do. Watching a rescue patient go from hurting and struggling to happy, comfortable, and thriving is something truly special.

From almost no fur… to a whole lot of hope. ❤️

Gold Country Veterinary Hospital will be closed on Saturday, July 4, so our team can enjoy the holiday with their families.

If your pet experiences a medical emergency while we are closed, please contact MarQueen Pet Emergency and Specialty Hospital at 916-757-6600 or your nearest emergency clinic.

We hope you and your furry family members have a fun, safe holiday! Please remember to keep pets indoors during fireworks, ensure they have updated ID tags or microchip information, and give them a quiet, secure place to relax.

🇺🇸 Fourth of July Pet Safety Reminder! 🇺🇸

Please note that Gold Country Veterinary Hospital will be closed on Saturday July 4th, in observance of Independence Day.

The Fourth of July is just around the corner, and while fireworks are a celebration for many, they can be frightening and stressful for our pets.

🐾 If your pet requires sedatives or anti-anxiety medication during the holiday, please contact us and pick up any prescribed medications before the holiday rush. Don’t wait until the last minute!

🎆 Pet Safety Tips for the Holiday:
• Keep pets safely indoors during fireworks displays.
• Ensure collars and ID tags are current and securely attached.
• Double-check that microchip information is up to date.
• Create a quiet, comfortable space inside your home where your pet can feel secure.
• Keep doors, gates, and windows closed, as frightened pets may try to escape.

⚠️ Did you know? The Fourth of July is one of the busiest times of the year for lost pets. The loud noises and unexpected fireworks can cause even the most well-behaved pets to panic and run away.

T-bone really said ‘I’m gonna step on it and see what happens 🐾🐍💥

Spoiler alert: the ground hissed back.

This curious guy took a spicy step and ended up with a rattlesnake bite to the foot—but thanks to quick-thinking humans and prompt care, he’s already on the road to recovery 💉✨

Lesson from T-bone: if it hisses, maybe don’t boop it with your foot!
