Short version: for most US veterinarians and technicians, registration for RACE-approved CE, the travel to get there, and lodging on the conference days are generally deductible business expenses — with specific rules about the personal days you add on. Three cities. Three sellouts. Not a coincidence.

San Diego 2024. Norfolk 2025. Santa Fe 2026. Every year the Veterinary Anesthesia Nerds Symposium has filled the room — because it's the one conference built entirely for the people who get excited about a good capnograph trace. In June 2027 it moves to Ottawa: up to 20.5 hours of RACE-approved anesthesia CE, a choose-your-own local blocks lab, and the Nerds themselves teaching — Tasha McNerney, Stephen Niño Cital, Darci Palmer, with Drs. Michele Barletta, Dario Floriano and Kristen Messenger.

If you've never done destination CE, here's the whole model in four lines.

Lectures run 8 am to about 1 pm — three mornings, 15 RACE-approved hours, attendance recorded and reported to RACEtrack for you. Afternoons and evenings are yours. That's a full year of CE for most licenses, done in three mornings somewhere worth flying to: a Caribbean island, the Big Island of Hawaii, an Alaska cruise.

The part people don't expect: you come home current AND rested. Two weeks after a hotel-ballroom conference you remember the carpet. Two weeks after this you remember the manta rays and the neurology.
