Cabalito
3/8/1997- 7/17/2025
Hanoverian stallion
Han, GOV
(Cordoba/Aderlass/Dominik)
Breeder: Heinrich Heemke, Germany
Our hearts at Whitehedge Farm including Anne, Macy and Devon are heavy as we said goodbye to our dear friend that was also an important foundation stallion that played an integral part in warmblood and hunter breeding development in the USA.
Cabalito competed successfully with many different riders to countless championships in the hunter, hunter derby and also up to the 140 m jumper rings.
He was well known as a prepotent sire of rideable, amateur friendly, brave, beautiful moving offspring successful in all 3 rings. He has several stallion sons as well including Cabulous WH and grandson Fourteen WH which both also stand at Whitehedge Farm in Aubrey, Texas. Cabalito is an exceptional broodmare sire as well with the quality reliably increasing with each generation.
We at Whitehedge Farm had the privilege to care for Cabalito until lived to the age of 28. He was also incredibly blessed to have exceptional farrier and veterinary care and we want to say a special thank you to his podiatrist Dr. Bruce Lyle and his general care veterinarian Dr. Cole Sciba who kept Cabalito feeling his best for such a long life. He was truly enjoying his retirement to its fullest until he suffered a bout of colic that we were unfortunately unable to medically resolve.
I was very thankful to be able to be with Cab until the end as he crossed the rainbow bridge. I felt quickly that he was completely and eternally at peace. Till we meet again my beautiful friend, goodbye ❤️
