Meet Storm đź–¤
Storm is a 2-year-old German Shepherd mix located in Daphne, Alabama, looking for a loving new home. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, and around 45 pounds.
Storm is very energetic, playful, sassy, stubborn, and full of personality. She absolutely loves playing ball (especially with pickleball balls), tug-of-war, and spending time outside. One of her favorite things is simply sitting on the front porch with her person. She also enjoys car rides and loves belly rubs — despite her energy, she will happily try to sit in your lap when she wants attention.
She has completed a two-week training program and is leash trained, crate trained, and knows commands including sit, stay, come, lay down, heel, and shake. Her commands are currently in German/Dutch rather than English, so her new family would need to learn her command words, but she responds to them very well and walks great on a leash.
Storm has primarily been an outside dog, so we are unsure how she would do living fully indoors or whether she is fully potty trained inside a home environment. However, she has adapted very well to outdoor living and does great with space to run and play.
Storm would do best in a home with older kids because she gets excited and tends to jump. She is very friendly with people and loves attention, but may accidentally knock over smaller children. She is not good with cats, as she likes to chase them. She enjoys other dogs and loves to play, but she can be dominant and likes to be the “boss,” so slow introductions would be important. A fenced yard is definitely needed for her energy level.
She is healthy, high-energy, and currently eats Purina One dog food. The only grooming she really needs is regular brushing.
This decision has been incredibly difficult for our family. Storm is deeply loved, but with an upcoming move to college and changes in our living situation, we know she would thrive better in a home that can give her the time, space, and consistency she deserves.
We want to find the absolute best fit for her and a family that will love her as much as we do.
