A low cost Clinic is a community effort. Why is it important? Right now the number of homeless animals far exceed the number of families able to provide care. Shelters are full, and in many cases are turning animals away. Animals are being dumped and neglected. Furthermore many people in our community are struggling to keep up with the cost of housing and living. They love their animals, but they just can’t afford to walk into a clinic and spend hundreds of dollars for basic wellness care, let alone a sick animal. Spay and neuter? The costs are going up and up and people just cannot afford to keep up with the growing prices. We have serviced hundreds of local families in the first month since opening with our low-cost clinic. Prices are as low as can be, set to sustain the operations of the clinic. People come prepared with money saved and then sometimes struggle with the purchase of an Elizabethan collar. These collars are vital post surgery to keep the pet from licking their incision. Incisions that are licked can become infected very quickly causing a follow up vet visit and more money that people just do not have. We would be most happy to accept donations for the angel fund for some e-collars to have on hand for people that just don’t have that extra support. The people we have serviced love their animals and are deeply grateful for access to services that are more affordable. Consider paying it forward by helping your neighbors by contributing for an E collar to help a community pet heal after their spay or neuter. These will also be used for shelter and rescue animals who are still looking for their forever homes.
