🎉 CHEMO GRADUATE ALERT! 🎓🐾
After a year-long cancer journey, Bella has officially graduated from chemotherapy — and she is currently CANCER-FREE! 💛 Bella was diagnosed with a high-grade soft tissue sarcoma on her side. These tumors can be locally aggressive, meaning they have a higher risk of growing back, and they can spread to the lungs in approximately 40–50% of cases. Bella first underwent surgery with Dr. Lockwood to remove the tumor. Because of the tumor’s size and location, microscopic cancer cells remained behind after surgery. Once Bella healed, Dr. Evans and our oncology team treated her with two sessions of electrochemotherapy (ECT) — a localized treatment designed to target cancer cells remaining in the area after surgery. To further reduce the risk of the cancer returning or spreading, Bella also completed one full year of low-dose metronomic chemotherapy. And now, after a year of treatment, we get to celebrate the best news: Bella is cancer-free! 🥳🐶🎗️ Way to go, Bella! We are SO proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished. Congratulations, sweet girl! 💕🎓🐾

This is Tucker!
He came in to see the surgery service for removal of a large mass in his armpit. The mass was making it difficult for Tucker to walk. Surgery was performed to remove the mass, and he was able to return to normal activity without a limp! And best of all, the mass was found to be benign. We love our happy, active Tucker-boy!

🎓🐾 Meet Max! 🐾🎓
We're celebrating Max, who has officially graduated from cancer treatment! ❤️

Max was diagnosed with an apocrine gland a**l sac adenocarcinoma, a type of cancer that develops in the a**l glands. These tumors can be difficult to detect early because many pets don't show signs until the tumor becomes larger or begins causing problems such as scooting, difficulty passing stool, or elevated blood calcium levels.

Cases like Max's highlight the importance of routine wellness examinations, including re**al exams, which can help identify these tumors before they cause significant problems. After surgery, Max's pathology report showed that some cancer cells remained at the surgical site, and his tumor had several higher-risk features. Because of this, Dr. Evans discussed multiple treatment options with Max's family, including radiation therapy, electrochemotherapy, and systemic chemotherapy. Given Max's age and the sensitive location of the tumor, his family elected not to pursue radiation therapy. Instead, Max underwent systemic chemotherapy along with two treatments of electrochemotherapy directed at his surgical scar. These treatments were aimed at reducing the risk of local tumor regrowth and helping prevent the cancer from spreading.

We're thrilled to share that Max handled treatment very well and has now completed his protocol! 🎉 While his active treatment is finished, Max will continue regular follow-up visits with Dr. Evans, including physical examinations and imaging, to closely monitor for any signs of recurrence. Congratulations, Max! We are so proud of you and grateful to have been part of your journey. 💙

🎓🐾 Meet Titan! 🐾🎓

Titan truly lives up to his name—but anyone who meets him quickly learns that he's the gentlest of giants. ❤️

Titan was diagnosed with an aggressive bone cancer called osteosarcoma, a common tumor seen in large-breed dogs. Osteosarcoma is not only extremely painful because it destroys the bone, but it also has a high risk of spreading to the lungs. To give Titan the best chance at a longer, more comfortable life, he underwent amputation of the affected limb with Dr. Lockwood, followed by a course of chemotherapy with Dr. Evans.

We're thrilled to report that Titan recovered beautifully from surgery, completed his chemotherapy protocol, and has officially graduated from treatment! 🎉 If you've ever worried about how a dog might do on three legs, Titan is proof that dogs are incredibly resilient. His missing leg certainly hasn't slowed him down, and he continues to enjoy life with the same happy spirit that everyone loves.

Congratulations, Titan! We are so proud of you and honored to have been part of your journey. 💙

🎓🐾 Meet Gunner! 🐾🎓

We're celebrating a very special milestone—Gunner has officially graduated from his lymphoma treatment protocol!
When Gunner first came to see Dr. Evans, he had been diagnosed with an aggressive T-cell lymphoma affecting both his lymph nodes and internal organs. He was also battling high blood calcium levels and simply wasn't feeling like himself. Given the extent and type of his disease, his prognosis was poor. Despite the challenges ahead, Gunner's family chose to move forward with treatment—and they are so glad they did.

Since starting therapy, Gunner has made an incredible turnaround. He's feeling fantastic, full of energy, and back to enjoying life with his family. In fact, his mom recently shared that during a family walk, Gunner was leading the pack and outpacing everyone—including their other healthy Golden Retriever! 🐕💨

We couldn't be happier for this sweet boy and his family. And to make graduation day even more memorable, Gunner gave us his biggest smile for the camera when we asked! 😁 Congratulations, Gunner! We are so proud of you and wish you a long, happy remission filled with walks, adventures, and plenty of tail wags. 💙

🎓🐾Congratulations, Jake! 🐾🎓

Everyone, join us in celebrating Jake, who has officially graduated from his second round of chemotherapy for lymphoma!

Lymphoma is one of the most common cancers we see in dogs. While we use many of the same chemotherapy medications that are used in people, veterinary oncology treatments are given at lower doses and on different schedules. Our goal is not only to extend survival but also to maintain an excellent quality of life, allowing pets to continue enjoying their favorite activities and precious time with their families.

Jake was first diagnosed with lymphoma last year and successfully completed his initial chemotherapy protocol. During one of his routine monthly follow-up visits, Dr. Evans discovered that Jake had come out of remission. Fortunately, we were able to restart treatment, and Jake has responded beautifully!

Today, Jake is feeling great and has completed his second round of therapy. We are hopeful for a long remission and many more happy memories ahead for this sweet boy and his family. Please help us congratulate Jake on this important milestone! 💙

🐾 Meet Leo! 🐾
When Leo came to our Emergency Service, he had been struggling with persistent vomiting, a poor appetite, and low energy. His family knew something wasn't right, and we're so glad they brought him in when they did. After a thorough evaluation, we discovered that Leo had an intestinal obstruction caused by a foreign body, as well as aspiration pneumonia. He was also dealing with significant electrolyte imbalances that required careful monitoring and correction over several days.

Our Surgery team stepped in, and Dr. Lockwood successfully removed the obstruction. Following surgery, Leo spent several days recovering in our ICU, where he received around-the-clock care and support. Today, we're thrilled to share that Leo is back home, feeling great, and enjoying life like his happy, playful self again!

Way to go, Leo! Thank you to his dedicated family for trusting us with his care.
