😿 LOST TNR CAT 😿

It’s rare that we have a TNR kitty escape their trap but, unfortunately, that happened yesterday at pickup. This kitty escaped and is missing in the vicinity of Elk Country Animal Shelter in Atlanta. She IS fixed and her RIGHT EAR is tipped (left side when looking at her face). Please include the specific location / cross roads of where you believe you saw her.

GOOD MORNING ☀️ So sorry if you didn't get the "winning" call at 4pm yesterday. But everyone that bought a ticket is a winner in our eyes, you helped all the animals in our care and helped keep our shelter going ❤️
A big thanks 🙏 goes out to the volunteers that spent one day or many days selling our tickets, especially to our very dedicated core people that worked so hard, Dee, Mary, Irene ❤️, Robin!

🦨 I'm the skunk. Yes, I sprayed your dog. But let me tell you what I was doing in your yard.

Those little holes in your lawn? I was digging for grubs.

Japanese beetle larvae, June bug larvae, crickets, and other insects are all part of my diet. I also eat mice, voles, and even ground-nesting yellowjackets.

And that smell? It's my last line of defense, not an invitation to fight.

When a dog rushes toward me, I may stamp my front feet, raise my tail, and turn around before spraying. Those are warnings to back away.

So if you spot a skunk in your garden:

🌿 Keep your dog at a safe distance, especially at night.

🌿 Never corner a skunk or block its escape route.

🌿 Remember that those little lawn holes may mean fewer grubs beneath your grass.

I'm not trying to ruin your night. I'm just looking for dinner. ❤️
