Raise your hand if you brush your pets’ teeth daily! 👀🦗 If not - you aren’t alone! But pets’ oral health is very important to their overall health. Dental disease, tartar, and damaged teeth can adversely affect your pet’s cardiovascular system and cause discomfort and pain. During your pet’s regular health checkups, we may recommend a dental cleaning procedure if we see signs that your pet’s teeth are needing some attention. But what goes into this kind of procedure? As it turns out - a lot! First we’ll run labwork on your pet to ensure the safest anesthesia experience possible. After your pet is fully anesthetized, we will collect radiographs of their teeth so we can see any hidden problems that would otherwise go unnoticed. The care team then scales & polishes every tooth. Severely damaged teeth are surgically removed so your pet is able to eat comfortably again. Many pet owners report that they didn’t even realize their pet was in discomfort until the difference became clear after their pet’s dental cleaning procedure!
