We have a client/friend who is having to move. He has 10 rescued dogs and he is worried that he will have to surrender them. Since a few are older with some health issues, he is afraid they will be put down. This man has helped rescue and rehome many pets. Please....if you can direct us to a group or individual who can temporarily home his pets until he finds a place that will allow him to keep his dogs OR if you know of someone who would rent to him...let me know. He is heartsick about this.
Thanks, Christy

We had to move from our rented warehouse space at APRA as they were bought out by Best Friends Society. They needed the space to help implement their feral cat program in Atlanta.

One interesting fact about Natchez. Besides being one of the oldest cities on the River..it has a great music scene!! Several old original buildings house blues clubs. One is Under the Hill...the original centuries old port area where all sorts of nefarious characters hung out. The other in the more genteel downtown area called Smoots. Used to be a general store at the time. Both are great venues with local clientele that are as interesting as the buildings themselves!! The musicians are mostly local or transplants from New Orleans or The Delta. The Blues Highway 61 Trail comes thru town so this iS the real deal. You can evn bring your dog in if its well behaved!!

Its been a long time since I had the time to post on Facebook. Been living at my parents place in Mississippi out in the middle of nowhere. Seriously the closest city is 30 miles away. Since being here, I have rescued 20 cats & two pitbulls. All live with me except the smaller pit. Found a good home for him. Natchez, the town near me, has a serious feral cat problem. Always has. I figure since it is a port city on the MS river. Plenty of food around in all the kudzo vine that covers anything it can..if left unchecked. But we definitely could use a group to come in and provide free or very low cost spay / neuter as the ecoomy is pretty bad except forTourism. The local shelter is full of unwanted animals. They are involved with one of the transport programs up north. But that only happens evry once in a while.
If anybody can help out or send me contacts for a group that might be interested in helping, it would be greatly appreciated. Peace to all during the Holidays and in to the New Year!! CHRISTY

Hey - I was at a local adoption agency when Troy came in to try to surrender his dog to them. They explained that they couldn't take her - have to follow procedures. I asked if he needed food. He was so upset he could hardly speak. He has a place to stay in Newnan area but won't leave her. I don't have a place for a dog - am a crazy cat lady!! Please help if you can.

Subject: Need a home for my Lab mix

To whom it may concern,
I need to find a home for my dog as I am currently unable to take care of her. I've had her since she was a puppy when I rescued her from a shelter about 6 years ago. I do not want to give her up as I love her so much but I'm trying to do what's best for her. I recently lost my job and my home and I'm out of money so I am forced to go live somewhere that won't accept dogs as a last resort.

She is an amazing dog, smart, friendly and well-trained. Her name is Coco and she knows dozens of tricks, she is house trained and gets along well with all dogs from big to small. She has all her shots and has had regular vet visits and is in great health. As I stated she was a rescue so around certain men, usually really tall, big men, she gets scared but never aggressive. She great around children and would be a great fit for any dog loving family or owner. I just want her to have a good home where the new owner will be good to her as she's the best dog I've ever known.

Ideally I'd love to find her a foster home for a few months until I could get a job and save up for my own apartment then I could take care of her again. I'm not sure how this whole process works but I know that I can't take care of her for a while and I want to find her a good home and do what's right for her.

Please let me know if you all can help her and if you need any additional information from me.

Thanks,
Troy Roundy
