🐾 WHELPING BOX PREP 101 | The REAL Life of a Frenchie Breeder 👑

Don’t mind how I look! 😂 Between being up all night and Star going into labor at 4 AM, sleep was definitely not part of the plan!

But let’s talk about something important: How do you prepare a whelping box for newborn puppies?

At Only Royal Frenchies, I layer our whelping area to help with:

💧 Moisture protection — A waterproof barrier helps protect the flooring.

🧼 Easy cleanup — Absorbent layers help manage messes and can be replaced as needed.

🐾 Puppy traction — A secure, non-slip top surface helps newborn puppies move around safely.

💕 Comfort and hygiene — Clean, dry bedding is important for Mom and her babies.

⚠️ BREEDER TIP: Make sure all layers are flat and secure. Avoid loose bedding, exposed disposable pads, or anything newborn puppies could become trapped underneath. Proper warmth, supervision, and anti-crush protection are also essential.

Breeding French Bulldogs is so much more than cute puppies and beautiful colors. It’s the late nights, preparation, constant cleaning, and responsibility of caring for these precious little lives. ❤️
