Georgia Pet Foundation

Georgia Pet Foundation Statewide spay/neuter organization. Buy a license tag - Save a life. In April of 2016, Governor Deal signed legislation that approved the new tag.

Georgia Pet Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization formed to administer funds from a new spay/neuter license tag. Georgia Pet Foundation receives $19 ($20 for renewals) of each tag purchased. Georgia Pet Foundation then provides grants to eligible organizations for targeted spay/neuter programming across the state.

🐾 Keep Your Plate - Just Donate! 🍑

Ever notice those "Animal Friend" license plates driving around Georgia? They do amazing work, but here’s a secret: you don’t need a special plate to be a hero for Georgia’s pets.

Whether you’re rocking a university tag, a veteran’s plate, or the classic Georgia peach, you can make a massive impact right where you live.

When you donate, your dollars go directly to work in your county by:
- Funding low-cost spay/neuter grants where they are needed most.
- Proactively reducing the burden on our crowded local animal shelters.
- Promoting responsible pet ownership to keep families together.

We are on a mission to end pet overpopulation and euthanasia in all 159 counties of Georgia - and we can’t do it without you.

Keep the plate you love, and save a life today!

Why do we do what we do? 🐾💔

The answer is simple: We want to end the senseless suffering of animals in Georgia.

Every single day, thousands of preventable tragedies happen across our state. Overcrowded shelters, neglected strays, and countless unwanted litters born into a world that doesn’t have room for them. It breaks our hearts, but more importantly, it fuels our mission.

Spay and neuter isn’t just a medical procedure —it is the most effective, humane solution to stop the cycle of suffering before it even begins. By making these services accessible, we save lives, keep pets out of shelters, and build healthier communities.

But we can’t fix this alone. Georgia's pets need you.

Join the movement. Whether you share this post, volunteer, or chip in, you are becoming part of the solution.

Donate today. Every dollar directly funds life-saving spay/neuter surgeries. Together, we can end the suffering.

The landscape of community cat management in Georgia is reaching a critical turning point. Each year, more than 75,000 cats enter municipal systems statewide, making targeted Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) initiatives more essential than ever.

For organizations and advocates working on the ground, managing these increasing numbers requires moving beyond operational silos and creating more unified, sustainable approaches to protecting, sterilizing, and advocating for free-roaming cat colonies.

Join fellow rescue leaders, caregivers, and community advocates on June 13th for an important conversation about community cat management in Georgia.
